The forces behind the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist and Natanz official Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan in Tehran Wednesday remains unknown, but recent details about the hit revealed that the location of the assassination was rather conspicuous – just a few blocks away from Iranian Intelligence headquarters.

Iran blames Israel and the United States for the attack, and has already vowed that its retaliation "will reach beyond Iran and beyond the region," adding that those involved "shouldn’t feel safe anywhere."

Available details reveal that Roshan was killed by two bombs thrown at his car by two motorcyclists who sped away, in what has already been described by Iranian media a daring terror attack.

The media reports made scarce mention of the fact that the Iranian Intelligence – the very body that is suppose to thwart such attempts – is located less than a mile away from the scene of the crime.

The area surrounding the Iranian Intelligence HQ is considered highly secure, yet the motorcyclists aroused no suspicion. They were able to kill both Roshan and his bodyguard, who was driving the car.

Iran claims that the hit was carried out by Israeli agents but has not presented any proof to that effect.

Iranian opposition sources quoted eyewitness reports suggesting the area was "crawling with police forces" prior to the attack. Should those reports prove true, they indicate an even greater lapse in the Iranian intelligence, since it suggests Tehran authorities may have had an advance waning of an impending attack.

The Ministry of Intelligence and National Security is considered one of the most prominent ministries in Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's regime, and is in charge of intelligence and counter intelligence.

Ironically, the ministry is based on the Sawac , the Shah's intelligence and security agency, which the Moassad advised during the 1970s.

There are many inside Iran that are against the Ayatollah regime, don't you agree? That is why they are called the opposition.
There is a difference between the people who ask for a referendum or fair elections
and people who want a revolution (what you think is opposition but is a small group of people).

There is the possibility even that the help or even the acts, are from people who don't want a revolution but are "inside".
There are some theories ...

Everyone praising MOSSAD and all the Indians here having an emotional orgasm over it remember in the past years the only thing MOSSAD has been good at it is assassination (Murder) of unarmed helpless people. That is not something to be proud of. If anything it is Downright sickining to say the least. Arab scientists were killed by the dozens by this terrorist organization called MOSSAD, and now Iranians are suffering the same thing.

What other purpose does these assassinations (Murders) serve except terrorizing people from becoming scientists?? Last time I checked this thing falls under the category of terrorism. And again Indians here having an emotional orgasm is just sickening bepynd belief.

Perhaps we should not be so quick to credit/blame Mosad, there are a number of countries that arent keen on Iran having the bomb and have the resources to pull this off such as say Al Mukhabarat Al A'amah. ;)

If you check some facts about Yi Se Lie you might be surprised... I can't talk too freely... you understand.

Its sad that we are coming to the day when soft targets and assassination are something to be proud of or aspire to.

whats more

the Republican hopefuls are openly talking about assisting assassinations and insurgencies in Iran and doing something similar to Syria and they are touting that as their version of US foreign policy.
its an utter disgrace that for same actions they invade other countries and put economic blockades while doing the same thing themselves and preaching the morality to the world too.

whatever Iranian regime is is a different matter but engaging in the similar acts and supporting its allies in such activities is only called terrorism and is condemnable. it’s a worrying trend for Pakistan because Americans are now openly discussing about helping terrorism in Iran which means they intend to support the Jundullah which is a a sectarian organisation and is seeking independence from Iranian Balochistan. No wonder Americans are not only showing soft corner to BLA but also facilitating them while the terrorist leadership stays in Afghanistan or in Europe.
Such actions will only add fuel to the already tense situation in the region. I wish the Arab countries don’t fall into this trap and both the Iranians and Arabs see sense and not help in any conspiracy to ignite yet another war in the gulf.

I believe the agents were part of the Iranian opposition.

Wow, so a scientist is killed by bombs and you say it was done by the Iranian "opposition"? WTF are u smoking? An opposition has the right to do alot of things but when they do this they become terrorists, your keen to call everyone who kills your civilians terrorists so whats the difference now?

Relax.

The difference between Assassinations and Terrorism(Mosa would know, he is a proud Saudi), is that the targets are military personnel and not for example a school bus of children.

If ever such a thing happened in Iran or anywhere else, i would condemn it without hesitation.

He was a scientist not a soldier.

It's sad that people are sitting around wringing their hands and shaking their heads like old ladies bemoaning the evil of men. Everyone knows Israel plays dirty and only understands one language. You don't negotiate with Israel; you pay them back in kind.

Again, I see some Iranian official 'theatening' retaliation. It's becoming a joke. Do what you have to do instead of talking about it. Once successfully delivered, everyone will know where the package came from.
