Iran will Provide Gas to China Through Pakistan

^^
We are sourcing gas from Iran via Oman, so it is no American Pressure. We have also supported Syria, which talks about American influence.

So dealing with Iran is no issue with India.

What is the issue than ?

Oh .....we can not trust Pakistan......

I think it is a good news for Iran, Pakistan & China. We can supply pipes. India has been supplying pipes to China and other countries.

congratz to Iran, Pakistan & China on building this proposal and making it a reality,
As a word of advice, ask your citizens to consume justifiably the natural resources, I am doing the same to fellow Indians whom ever I meet.
Natural resources have no price and we are suposed to use it judiciously.

Wel done all stake holders in this deal

India and Iran discuss the oil pipelines via Oman under sea to avoid Pakistan.

Has any country ever built an under sea gas pipeline before, especially at that long of a distance? It will be good if India does this, it will cost them a lot of money.

And the map of India and Pakistan is wrong. Im assuming thats an Indian version of the map including Gilgit-Baltistan as part of india. How indians love to dream

Lol, on the map, just ignore them. Too many errors. I replaced it.

Yes, during WW2, British constructed undersea pipelines with France despite the bad weathers. Even Nazi Germany threatened to destroy pipelines by submarines. More detail

Currently, British is still world's longest oil undersea pipelines to Norwary very costly. More details

A stunning example of undersea pipeline technology at use is the recent Langeled Pipeline, which connects Norwegian North Sea oil fields with processing plants in Britain. It stretches an astonishing 746 miles to bridge the gap between the two countries, over underwater terrain so rough and rocky it required two robotic diggers working tirelessly to clear the space for it. At its deepest the pipeline lays in 2953 feet of water (with water pressure of 1500+ psi!). The $3.3 billion pipeline was laid piece by piece with pipe welded on two floating "pipe factories" - ships on which the pipes were secured before being placed on the ocean bottom.

Price Tag: $3.3 billion
Completion Date: October 2007
Total Length: 746 miles

Many countries able to do this especially Russia deal with Europe, Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, and so on - European firms sign Black Sea pipeline deal with Russia | Black Sea Energy & Economic Forum

Yes I figured to build an under sea pipeline it would be very costly. Not to mention the added costs of purchasing gas from Iran. Iranians are good businessmen though. I hope they rob the indians

a)On a long run Underwater pipeline works out cheaper since there wont be any transit charges to be paid
b)Can pakistan or Iran assure that there will be unhindered supply of gas/oil at any eventually including that during a war ? Its just not feasible to have a over land pipleline !

50 years ago people also used to say its not possible to build a highway in Himalayas and KK ranges to connect Pakistan to China, and look what we have now.

Omar I work in the gas company i do not believe in what the newspapers write. Even if we construct a pipe it would be so expensive to operate that CHina will rather go for Iran gas through LNG.

Ali Initial cost of pipeline laying and compressors will be very high especially the river and mountain crossing. After that once it is in running position compressor will be required to run all the time to maintain pressures etc. Plus the area where the line will pass is of high seismic activity therefore line will be prone to earthquake all the time

earthquake risk on one side....low level hit & run insurgency on the other side

it makes sense i guess....if geography allowed for it, it would be a very lucrative proposition.

so basically what you're saying is that any talk of I-P-China pipeline (given india's withdrawal) is just bullshyte? That's a pity.

Frankly the way things are moving i very much doubt the IP part too. We will be paying damages to Iran from 2014 but i do not think we will be able to complete the line by then

Iran and Pakistan should use this highway as the possible route of this pipeline.
What about the Ata abad lake :) which has been created by the earthquake last year ;)

Another solid step towards economic expansion and better regional integration for future, security and stability. India which dropped out due to uncle sam pressure is welcome to watch the show of its defeat!
