TEHRAN (FNA)- Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh announced that the IRGC's combat-bomber drones make the biggest fleet in the region.
"Today, the IRGC is in possession of the biggest bomber-combat fleet in the region," General Hajizadeh told reporters on the sidelines of massive drone drills by the IRGC in the Persian Gulf region on Thursday.

He said that a part of the drills has been dedicated to designing and planning for the concurrent flight of drones in a very limited geographical region.

One of the jet powered UAV's being used in this drill:

These drones come in varying sizes, this is a smaller version.

Note the opening of the internal bay. These carry two Sadid bombs.

These drones were used against ISIS few months ago, if I am not mistakes, that was the first time in the world a stealth UCAV was used in action!

Drones are good for creating a cheap deterrence against targets also crowd the enemy radar , but I don't think Iranians have a potent Airforce to fully utilize their drone potential ..

Yeah, planning for that.

Currently primary models of Iran's turbofan engine is passing through multiple tests. It will be based on RD-33 but with enhanced and better capabilities. Drones are most capable weapons for offensive missions, they can penetrate enemy's air defense systems. Saves human resources during a possible conflict

well those drones are from IRGC and IRGC did not have an air force up until 2 years age thay have missiles UCAVs so they adapt for every situation.

I think Iran should get Su30's , as they are agile , twin engine , long range ..it will serve Iran in multiple roles .

When you are training , you prepare for war , in war you need net centric environment and all branches work together . If Iran is expected to attack some target drones will be very useful to confuse the enemy radars while your main fighter sneak in for the hit .

I hope not. Depending on foreign technology is not what i like but due to shortage of time, its most possible among foreign options. And without TOT, no we won't buy it.

You can learn alot from Su30 , plus Irans capacity to build modern fighters are almost non existent . You need to modernized your Airforce on fast track so buying some 30-50 Su30 will be huge step in that direction.

If you remembered the S-300-PMU2 story and it's contemporary project Bavar-373 the Iranian made airdefence system, it will happen in case of a fighter jet too.
