Indonesia castration law 'will wipe out paedophilia'

Indonesia could "wipe out" paedophilia with its new policy of chemical castration, President Joko Widodo has told the BBC.

He said Indonesia respected human rights but there would be "no compromise" when it came to punishing such sexual crimes.

Indonesia passed controversial laws earlier this month authorising chemical castration for paedophiles.

The laws were subject to fierce debate in parliament.

The Indonesian Doctors Association says its members should not be involved as the procedure would violate medical ethics.

Chemical castration is the use of drugs to reduce sex drive and libido, without sterilisation or removing organs.

President Widodo said "our constitution respects human rights, but when it comes to sexual crimes there is no compromise".

"We are strong and we will be very firm. We will hand out the maximum penalty for sexual crimes."

He added: "In my opinion… chemical castration, if we enforce it consistently, will reduce sex crimes and wipe them out over time."

Practical effort, especially to be used against those who have a history of repeated crime when nothing else seems to be working to convince them otherwise.

First time rapist, send them to jail.

Second time rapist, perform surgical castration. This will remove the "root cause." :-)
Chemical castration is not good enough, it wears off. A follow up boost is required, too much admin work.

Third time - nope, there won't be a third time.

Clean and simple but this is difficult to implement.

We choose a slightly different strategy in our new law.
1st time > jail (this is time to repent)
2nd time > jail + chemical castration + tracking (they are dangerous! we'll watch them closely!)
3rd time > execution (time to clean up trash)

There's but...
If their act is inhuman that leave severe body or mental trauma to the victims or infecting dangerous disease, they can be punished by execution right away.

Just cut off their genital and give estrogen hormone shot to the offender

Drugs can work and its not inhumane either sans the side effects. Back in 2012 i was injected with a big overdose of some psychoactive drug. That floored my libido forever. And i am actually better off in that respect. Not wanting to have sx feels way better. Its only that it was only one of the effects. Other effects are much bother.

yes, cemichal castration is actually a medical treatment.

We'll create effeminacy problem after that.

Eliminate them in public or throw them in front of dogs. These people are worse than animals. Show no mercy.

Nah, that will disturb public order and invite chaos. For the nasty offenders we will bring them to the ghost island/death penalty island "Nusakambangan" and execute them in the middle of the night.

But just for the record I wasnt treated for any criminal tendency. There is an unspoken convention in Pakistan to"treat" extreme intelligence which they associate with the devil and evil. Its a mixture of superstition and a socialist desire to even out everyone.
