India's LCA Tejas in Trouble ?

Gist of it is, if LCA incepted since the 90s, if being a successful platform, would have gradually replaced the IAF Mig21s, Mirages, Jaguars. Rather than just having 40 LCAs flying at the moment.

Its okay to accept failure. LCA block II enhancements with lessons learned from the previous block could be a way forward and eventually in 5-10 years become a mature platform to replace the IAF Mig21s, Mirages, Jaguars.

You didn't get the psyche of the argument here.
Unlike say the Rafale, the Tejas in it's infancy had input and contributions from almost every major aircraft manufacturing house around the globe. French for example can rightly call their Rafale as indigenous product.
In any case, we are going off topic here.

Yes, we are going off topic but, as per your logic or are you saying that both Rafale & EF projects are failure since even after having everything indigenously France & EU members couldn't able to build a 4th gen aircraft equal to US or USSR for 2 decades ?

Not sure how did you come up with this judgement or where in the Topic is so called France v US cropped up.
The logic and hard fact is whatever has France or EU or for that matter US or USSR produced, they can rightly call it indigenous...the argument lies with Tejas...that after all the inputs in both man and material by foreign aircraft manufacturers , can it be termed Indigenious. Well even Indian media doesn't think so, however the reality seems to hurt tiny ego of fanboys.

PAF replacing older generation aircrafts (A-5s, F-7s, Mirages) with JF-17s.

J-10s will augment the F-16s on its front line fleet.

The Tejas could very well replace the aging Mig21s, Mirage 2Ks and possibly the Mig29s. Why is that not happening?

Clearly you haven't been following Tejas related news.

40 Tejas Mk1s are in service.

83 Tejas Mk1As are on order and deliveries are to start from February 2024.

97 more Tejas Mk1As are about to be given Acceptance of Necessity (AON) by the Defence Minister which will then lead to a contract for those 97 units.

All in all 220 Tejas Mk1As will be in IAF service. They'll replace all MiG-21 variants plus Jaguars.

120+ Tejas Mk2s are going to be ordered by the IAF which will go on to replace Mirage-2000I and MiG-29UPGs.

I was just comparing development of aircrafts India with other western nations. France with so many years of experience of building Mirage struggled to build Rafale. They started its plans to build 4G aircraft in 80s and it took almost 2 decades to induct it into its force and like them India started to induct Tejas since 2015.

I know engine is major part but for Tejas Mk.1 & 2 GE engine will be used and it will take another 10-15 years to mature such technology. GoI believes that rather than buying Gripens, F-16 & F-18s with GE engine, building Tejas locally using GE engines are do more good for Indian aircraft industry.

Indeed the LCA Tejas is in trouble! Deep trouble!

The Defence Minister just cleared the AoN for 97 more Tejas Mk1A to take the total Mk1A to 180 and total Tejas Mk1/Mk1A in the IAF to 220.

Lol..This is why I say that whatever these gaandu fellows on this forum say doesn't really matter in the real world. In the real world, Pakistan and it's economy are in the gutter and the Tejas and it's variants are progressing no matter how much ill will these fellows have for it or however much they troll the program.

Tejas being inducted now is at par or better than Block III of JF.
Tejas program had many hiccups for a long time. But it has turned around very very well now.

Tejas in it’s current iteration is far better than, even what it was just 3-4 years back. Our friends here are cut up and feeling bad for this turn around they hadn’t expected and seen coming.

I am loving every moment of this.

You shouldn’t be calling Pakistanis gandus on a PDF forum.

Learn to have civil arguments.

When a project incepted in the late 80s and has managed to build 40 until now, the project is at risk if not in red.
