There was lost years in the 70's 80's take AP for example we are only now building the infrastructure needed to meet the challenge of China when this should have been done decades ago.

It have took time after 123 Agreement then IAEA safeguards but now India is going on right direction. AP will be the most developed state in India because it will be preplanned.

CHENNAI: Kudankulam nuclear power plant went commercial on Wednesday with Nuclear Power Corporation Ltd (NPCIL) announcing a price of 4.29 per unit. In effect, power from the plant would be cheaper than power purchased from private thermal plants as well as other plants using oil and gas as fuel. Power from other sources cost between 3.15 per unit (wind energy) to 12 per unit (power generated using gas, diesel and naphtha).

Key members of NSG including USA, Russia, France, Australia and Japan have been supportive of India's entry into the select club. However, certain European nations and global non-proliferation lobbies are opposing India's entry, officials said, adding that China could also support those who are tying India's membership with either a NSG membership for Pakistan or grant of clean waiver by NSG to Pakistan on the lines of the one granted to India in 2008.

I have read about the countries who are supporting India's NSG membership but nowhere the names of those countries are mentioned who are opposing it just always China and some EU countries.

France,Germany do supports India's NSG membership

Japan wants you to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) or signed the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. Theres is nothing bad in doing that. Since It is the India deal that puts Japan most at risk of compromising its national identity as a champion of nonproliferation and disarmament. So think the ball is in India's camp.

By allowing access to IAEA of its Nuclear sites , India has got uranium supplies from NSG members and because of this only Japan and India signed agreement for Cooperation in the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy during the visit of PM Modi to Japan.

India is fully self-sufficient in all other aspects such as reactor design, construction, operation, including heavy water production and even India has been able to adapt to use various types of fuel in indigenous pressurised heavy water reactors (PHWR), fast breeder reactors (FBRs) and imported pressurised light water reactors (PWRs) of advanced design sourced from suppliers such as Russia, France, the US and Japan.

The PWR sector is dependent on Japan for supply of some components, notably very large sized special steel forgings as part of the reactor pressure vessel. These are made of special steel, capable of withstanding the high pressures and temperatures and the intense neutron bombardment from the reactor core, without failure for over 40 years.

Japan for sure will work with India on the peaceful nuclear energy as India is a responsible country.
