Its Jane.'s Defence news don't take it times of india, your projections of 2011 proved wrong, it is delayed by 3 year well into 2014, I know it was posted, i wanted to post News because its is ALWAYS reliable.

Yeah but after this report DRDO officials who are responsible for this project themselves said that project is on time in a seminar during Aero India 2011. So, i think now that can also be wrong sometimes.

Also there was no need for a new thread on the news which came in Feb and on which your friends have already opened many threads....

30th March 2011:India's premier agency, the Defense Research Development Organization's (DRDO) Center for Airborne Systems (CABS) has begun integrating the indigenous mission systems for India's modified EMB-145 Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft. TheIndian Air Force is slated to induct 3 AEW&C aircraft by 2013. The first AEW&C is due to arrive in the country by year- end. DRDO is exploring ways to finish the integration of subsystems on the ground rigs. With this development approach, the DRDO expects to minimise the time to integrate the mission systems & get them ready for user trials as soon as possible. Beforethe arrival of the aircraft from Brazil, the primary radar, identification-friend-or-foe (IFF) interrogator, communications and electronic intelligence receivers and data-processing systems are being integrated. Embraer will modify the aircraft for Indian requirements and it will be certified for airworthiness, including under icing conditions. Theradar's active array unit is currently undergoing rooftop testing, while the IFF interrogator system will undergo standalone flight trials on a HS 748 Avro. Theinitial project was approved by the central government at a cost of Rs 1,800 crore ($400 million) to develop two operational and one engineering prototypesystem. The Indian government has also allocated additional funds to carry out other tasks.
