Nice thread. I love trains. Would take a train instead of a flight anyday if time permits. Just love "SL" seat in 3rd/2nd A.C. cause of the expansive window to look out from.

I have travelled a lot in train when I was in college,it used to be mostly in mangla and jhelum express. I have lots of good memories associated with those trips and trains.

WAM 4 class twins with a container rake.

Dual voltage WCAM 1 class

The work horse diesel of 80s-90s, WDM 2 class. This class of locos were imported from ALCO USA back in 1960s and then licensed manufactured at DLW Varanasi.

as soon as modi came into power....i saw bio toilets in some trains .................the thing is those toilets are not perfectly installed........

Way back in the late 70 and 80s there used to be a guy at the Bhusawal Jn on platform number 1 , he used to sell omelettes bread, he had a knack of throwing them 6 feet in the air.

Actually we need to shape our Locos very aerodynamically. That will improve the efficiency and speed. This is what IIT mumbai told to Indian railway..

i was born in 1980 so.....
My father had an old Minolta camera and he took some pics back in 1970s near Ranchi. Let me see if some of them are in good condition to scan and upload.
