Indian Navy begins flexing its muscles

Islamabad—With an alarming note from Indian Navy Chief Adm. Nirmal Verma that “we need to maintain the organizational ability to deploy ships, submarines and aircraft at ‘immediate’ notice,” top Indian Naval commanders are discussing new strategy and plans. An Indian defence ministry official was quoted as saying that “over the next four days, commanders of the Indian Navy will discuss issues of operational relevance and future plans of the Indian Navy.”

It is worth noting that the Indian Navy began flexing its muscle as a time when Pakistan Navy has lost its under-sea monitoring capabilities after “specially trained terrorists” targetted its most valueable Naval asset P3C Orion aircraft.

Meanwhile, India has also decided to invest nearly $50 billion to strengthen its naval forces over the next 20 years, adding 101 new warships, ranging from destroyers to nuclear submarines while India is expected to build several sophisticated destroyers.

According to a media report India would acquired “new generation and new radar vessels, nuclear submarines, and amphibious ships.” India’s expenditure on warship building could account for as much as 27.8 per cent of the total investment in Asia-Pacific, the report added.

Meanwhile, the India Navy will soon induct two more deadly stealth frigates to bolster its growing power apparently to counter Chinese Navy.

Reports from India say that a 6,200-tonne stealth frigate INS Satpura is likely to be commissioned in June-July, while the Russian-built 4,900-tonne INS Teg should be ready for induction by September-October.

Whats the Point in posting Such News
This article is just the pakistani prospective of what was announced in recent Naval Commanders conference
2 threads were already opned on this subject

Also another thing to note is that while India will Induct 101 Warships which will cost us around 50 Billion USD
But the time frame for this investment announced in 2007 is 15 yrs
ie we will induct around 80 Surface ships comprising Frigates , Destroyers , Corvettes , Amphibius assault ships , Aircraft Carriers , Patrol Ships , Training ships , Survey ships , Fleet Tankers
These will be Inducted by yr 2022 and will replace some 60 Surface Comabatant which will retire by yr 2024
Similarly we also intend to Induct some 21 Submarines comprising 9 Nuclear Powered and 12 Diesel Electric Subs , which will replace some 14 Diesel electric Subs currently in service , by 2027

So i dont think that Pak has to worry much coz net addition expected over this 15 Yr expansion programme is only 27 Ships
With Majority of this addition likely to happen to number of Frigates and Destroyers which will increase from 20 to 29 , and Number of Subs which will increase from 14 to 21

Rest of classes of Ships will only increase by 2-4 vessels with Aircraft carriers increasing from 1 to 3 and LPD/LHD increasing from 1 to 4
