^^ I thought the double decker bogies would be the same as those shown in Hollywood movies, with separate rooms and cafes..but this seems to be IR's way of squeezing out more from the same space. With this type of seating arrangement you cant even 'push back' for taking a nap and there are no berths for sleeping making long distance journey highly uncomfortable.IR burst by bubble.:disagree:

^^
I think there may be sleeper bogies. But still its better than the real crappy hard ir seating.

The seat seems to be the 'budget' version of the airline economy class but with back to back placement you cannot 'push back' for taking a nap.

Its fairly standard in double decker chair cars for trains around the world. I mean these are passenger trains not luxury trains.

Sydney's double decker.

The double decker rakes are only meant for commuter routes, any journey within 5-6 hours. If people can travel in local buses for that long without pushback seats, they can do so in these bogies as well.

I doubt they will be introduced for long distance routes.

These trains are going to be introduced on Delhi-Muradabad-Lucknow Track. There is a already double decker train named Flying Rani.

Ohh how can physically challenged people use these steps…..:hitwall:

actually the physically challenged dont go to the upper floor. They stay in the bottom one.The ones which are operational now, have sitting arrangement only, and not meant for long range travel.

This is something in line with the Janshatabdi, where you have chair-cars only.
