Do not be delusional. The US navy fifth fleet is far superior than our navy. I'm just being realistic here. Do we have so much as a needle that can prick their supercarriers or nuclear subs? We will get there. But we're not there tight now and you need to come to terms with that

Dude that was an anecdote! Like 'with china hovering above us' does not imply they are actually above us!
What I mean is with US bases and large presence in the Indian ocean, stop dreaming about Indian dominance there.

With a Tri-Service command in Andaman, and Asia's biggest Naval base coming up in Karwar, india will have the biggest fire-power in terms of Ships and personnel.And when i say dominace its not only fire-power, but also the ability to influence the political climate in a country, which India can in its neighbourhood, better than USA.

Already USN fifth fleet is under severe strain with local Bahrainis asking for removal of the base. USN needs support from the Indian Navy, which is by far the largest naval power in the region. USN has the bigger fire-power in the world, but without political will and strategic partners they are toothless.

That is also the reason why Maldives, maurtius and even Sri lanka turn to IN and not USN even when USN base is near them.

Don't think Bay of Bengal even needs a carrier group presence. With the Air and Naval Base in the Andamans and along the Eastern coast, having a carrier fleet bottled up there will be pointless. Keep two groups in the Indian ocean on either side of Srilanka and one in the Arabian sea.

In 1971, we saw that INS Vikrant (a tiny carrier by modern standards) could effectively disable Coxs Bazaar and Chittagong Harbor with just eight Sea Hawks.

Imagine what this beast can do to Karachi with 18 MiG-29Ks

Maldives and Mauritius have huge indian populations. Sri Lanka and India have historical ties. It has nothing to do with strength. And I can make out you just googled 'fifth fleet'. In then end they aren't gonna leave from bahrain. And they aren't gonna be less superior just because you think so. They are much better connected with data links between ships. And their ships work very well in coordination. They have a huge number of landing craft with marines. They have the aegis systems. You think with 8 destroyers we are even comparable to them? (It's like the PN. What they think is a F22 frigate, we would at most call a corvette. Infact our Kamortas are 500 tons heavier). Our navy has a huge number of ships under construction. And we will eventually be as good as them. But for now we aren't even close.
