They look north Eastern maybe gorkha rifles.
In my recent trip to goa, a lot of the live music was being performed by NE or Nepali ppl. And these were hindi songs not the western music which is typically popular in the NE.

Only been to one rock concert in my life. Deep purple. Not much of a music person but deep purple is popular in all engg colleges. You just can't escape it.You should come by to Shillong.
