Indian Army Chief in Vietnam to boost defence ties

I also think those are expensive and anyway, why has to be so expensive for 35 knots? The Molniyas do 42 knots and cost 65 million (almost half from the missiles) but those are actual warships. 35 meters is even smaller than the Osa missile boats that VN has.
yes, it is too expensive. it is like buying a Mercedes car. I don´t understand, either. we are still a developing country, not like japan or korea.
If the chinese really do that, they are really stupid and will lose whatever little respect I have for them.
mark my words: the chinese will jump in and help putin when he sinks to the knee.
I'm surprised (and Putin was too) about how much Merkel sold out to the US, what's your take? Did you read what that other German guy said about her?
So I guess she really hates Russia after all, so much for the special relationship that Putin thought that he had with her.
putin overplays the cards. he grossly underestimated the impact of western sanctions on russia economy. he overlooks the facts that the dollar is controlled by the american central bank and the oil price by the US foreign office. his greatest mistake.

angela merkel speaks fluently russian language as she once studied it and knows russia as country and people very well. most germans and the media support her policy. in the last party election, she scored 98% approval rating.

No, she is very disappointed by putin. she tried many times to change putin´s policy on eastern ukraine, but failed. you can say she is very angry right now. VERY angry.

a tip for all men: NEVER mess with an angry women :)

As I told you before, Merkel is a spineless opportunist who would jump on any bandwagon that she thinks takes her to where she wants. She studied in Moscow and speaks fluently Russian, she even won a prize in a Russian language competition.

Merkel didn't move a finger when the people went on the streets in East Germany, but right at the moment the Wall came down, the FDJ secretary for propaganda and agitation suddenly became a 100% democrat. Such a despicable person she is.

Well, someone like her is the ideal candidate to work for the CIA, she is definitely in the pockets of the Americans; damn! what an scumbag she is.

I really appreciate your input, I haven't lived in Europe for many years, so I'm quite disconnected with these type of details which of course you are not going to find in the news.

How come somebody like her manages to get elected? I would imagine most German people know her history very well.

I understand you, but Putin had to react to the events in Ukraine. There is an agenda behind the situation in Ukraine and is directed against Russia. If Ukraine were to just be an innocent western leaning country, that would not be too bad, but the americans have other designs for Ukraine and Putin can't accept that. If Merkel were to be more neutral and were to recognize the Russian interests there and not pushing for Ukraine to joint NATO, then things could be solved, but now its a big mess and as the positions get harder, this can have a very bad ending. Its not wise to push the Russians into a corner.

You can see how effective the US regime works in the EU. She has been the ideal candidate long before she became chancellor. The whole mainstream media were not allowed to disclose her background, instead they were ordered to propagate her into an ideal democrat, because the CIA has all the threads in their hand and once she became chancellor, they can steer her wherever they want her to. For Merkel its not even a problem, she just did what she would have done in the former GDR, just for another master.

I don't get it, why VN needs to buy an small boat like that from India when VN already makes bigger and better (TT-400TP)? This is difficult to understand, we were getting all excited, and for a dinky boat like that?

By the way, I'm concerned about how hard the americans are hitting Russia, all that currency speculation is orchestrated by Washington, they are hitting them from all angles, They want to collapse the economy and make people feel the pain so that they can outs Putin, in which case the friends of the west will take over and US will end up controlling Russia. That would not be good for Vietnam.
I think Russia and Putin are very strong and can survive, but I do worry.
I'm no friend of China, but right now, they are the only ones that can help Russia if they are smart enough to help without asking for some kind of advantage in return, but that remains to be seen.

The TT-400TP (Navy version which is more expensive than the coast guard version) is $10 million. That ship is 54 m long, about 450 tons.

If that's the price, that's definitely expensive. I don't understand what's the point of getting such an small boat, what would be so special about that boat that VN can't make it.

There can be 3 reasons why you are buying these ships from us
1.You have shortage of Funds
2.You want to draw us in South China Sea
3.There is some deal about secreat equipment on the vessel

That makes sense except the shortage of funds, 100 million is nothing and VN doubled the defense budget in the last 3 years, so it might just be something very special about those ships, can't think what it is, but I guess we'll just have to wait.

You are right, she probably became a CIA agent the moment the wall came down.

How is the situation now? I understand that there is a lot of criticism of her policies, do you think she could be forced to do a reversal because of pressure from the public, business community, etc?

100mil is still money the money you save on ships can be invested somewhere else like getting a extra Fighter or a battery of missiles but I think 2. Is the most likely reason

She stands right between a rock and a hard place, but as long as the propaganda machinery works for her (in fact NATO) she has little to worry. If shite hits the fan in Germany, she will be in California for retirement. You know, the majority act like sheep. That's why our democracy is nothing but a farce.

You are very right man, regrettably the European people are gradually being zombized and controlled like the Americans. It used to be that Europeans were politically cultured, involved in politics, many had real leftist leanings, always ready to do demonstrations, etc and fight for their rights, but the System and the controlled media are slowly turning the tables.

You know, I used to live in USA for 25 years, I was amazed about the lack of political culture of most people. They just make their political opinions based on what they watch in the evening news, they get manipulated so easily, its amazing; that's why they often say that whichever candidate has more money to campaign and do TV ads, he usually wins. The news companies are all part of big corporations that of course follow the mainstream opinion and what is politically correct to say, so they just keep the population very well brainwashed. Very few people are really smart and politically savvy enough to rise above that.

I hope that's not the future of Europe and that people will wake up and reverse things before it gets to be too late.

I have live in the US as well and I can only agree with you on these facts. We in the EU were very vocal during the 1970s till the 90s, that is until the Wall came down. during the Cold War, the US regime didn't dare to do all the shite they are doing right now, because it was part of the propaganda that we are the good guys and give our citizens so much freedom, human rights, economic benefits etc. But since the end of the SU, there is no need to put on the mask anymore. Wages have been either stagnating or went down, fair wealth distribution went to the dustbin, civic liberty is only on the paper.

But the US regime has also learnt a lot in the meantime, that is how to brainwash the masses and make them docile.

OTOH, I see this current crisis as a frantic and final struggle to hold onto the unipolar world, the US is financially at the brink of collapse. Either they will prevail and can keep the current order a bit longer or if they fail to keep the USD as the premier reserve currency, I see the danger of civil war within the US. How else do you explain the militarisation of the police force in the US?

I totally agree with you, this is indeed the final struggle to keep themselves as the hegemon of the world and a unipolar world order. They can see where things are going with the BRICS and how the tide is slowly changing and its just a matter of time until the dollar is no longer the main global currency, in which case it will be a US collapse since they depend on that to keep living beyond their means as they have being doing until now.

The US will do whatever it takes to keep the status quo, they are going to get very nasty. They know that they need to take down / neutralize Russia and China. Russia is the softer, weaker target, so they start with Russia. If they succeed with Russia, China is next and it will be a nasty fight. That's why I keep telling the chinese here that if China is smart, they really need to give serious financial help to Russia without conditions, but most of them don't get it and only think about making profit from that.

I also see a lot of chaos in USA after an economic collapse if the dollar loses power. At that point, all bets are off.

Well, the key struggle right now is in Russia and Ukraine. The Russians need to survive and eventually prevail or we are all in deep shit man.

The only worry I have is that some crazy doomsday politicians might push the red button when they see no way out.

Don't mind the Chinese netizens in this forum too much, by the end of the day, it's the Chinese government that makes the dicisions and looking back at its amazing development record, I'm sure provisions and behind the door agreements have been made between both governments.

I hate to tell you, but that's also what I've been feeling.

Its not a good idea to push a nuclear superpower into a corner, specially when they are being lead by Putin. The Russians never give up and they don't take shit from anybody.

And on the other hand, how far are the crazy neocons willing to go to keep the unipolar world? Can they push the button? I think some of them are crazy enough to do it.

You are definitely right about the chinese here.

Well, when I said pushing the red button, I was not thinking about the Russians at all. They are too rational and they are part of the mature civilisations of the Eurasian continent. I was talking about the evangelical Neocons in the US.

I think the Russians could do it if they are in the verge of total defeat, but yes, those evangelical neocons (I like that label) would be the ones that are most inclined to be crazy enough to do it if they think that they can get away with it.
