I have seen many posts in this forum from Bangladeshis and they seem to use India attacking them as some sort of a badge of recognition that Bangladesh has arrived!

There is no denominator for drawing any equation in any fields with India and yet......

I am still wondering as to why should India attack Bangladesh?

What is the causus belli?

If they dont have enemy then they wont develop..

@ They have given enough and that is why we are standing on our leg. Tell me What they have not given ? You remember in 1971/72 once your army looted all the military armament we had nothing . But within a short spun of time we re-gain our glory. Who helped us ??? It was Pakistan, it was China, it was America, it was the muslim countries and today even the world and UN has recognised our army and for the 5/6 years we are the largest UN force contributers.

@ What you have given to us ? An Insurgency warfare for last last 27 years in Chittagong Hill Tract ? Supporting Kader Siddique who flade to India after the killing Sk Mujib. It was this Kader Siddique who fought with the BDR and army for almost two years (1975-76). Thanks to Janata Party once they came to power stopped supporting Kader Siddique.

There might be many a reasons but one such is the insecurity feeling they carry seeing our build up which might lead them to a preemptive strike on us. But I wonder if that could be taken a reason to be pondered about..

And you think the weapons used by Pakistan was something super duper that required to be taken?

Wild imagination at play at usual to give one some sort of confidence and rid oneself of their insecurity.

Now what did Pakistan, China, US and Muslim countries give you?

Saudis of course gave you the madrassas.

The fact that you are the largest contributor to the US is because it helps you to balance your budget. Good money.

Second, the one who has no adversary to contend with, can always spare troops in large quantity.

Thus, you may fear India as an individual, but the very fact that you can send a huge lot abroad to fight under the UN Flag, indicates that your Govt and your armed forces to not share your fear and run scared.

CHT has insurgency? If so ask Raja Tridib Roy, who was their Raja and went to Pakistan. He knew that Bangladesh would never give the Buddhist Chakmas any justice.

Unfortunately major buildups happen around it, although not to counter it.. Thats why I Cared enough in using the word "insecurity feeling", and would you care to explain your reason behind asking me if there is any troops pitted in the border? isnt it a genuine and an obvious one?

We have many proves. Well all cannot be shown but only we can feel it. India's friendship is just artificial !!!!!! It is one sided. India is very happy once Sk Hasina has come to power. Infact it was India along with other western countries which brought AL into power. And now, they want to get everything within this time. Look at the situation in Bangladesh. Everything is volatile. AL govt is blaming all the time to ISI, ISI like the Indian Govt. What poor ISI can do in Bangladesh ?

You make it sound like pseudonym, nevertheless I will answer you, there are troops deployed along the Bangladesh border, You cannot be joking with the largest border unmanning it can you? For proper manning, it needs proper infrastructure, proper logistical Support, do you think India would take chances by not providing it there, may be not for a smaller neighbor but for a bigger neighbor which is quite in reach...

I have been deployed in North Bengal and also in Bengal. Fairly responsible positions if I may add.

Absolutely wrong, Military position in The border is high especially for you must have known if you have been posted there, especially after the 2001 incident... The military presence has been beefed up, and it would continue to as long as we are allowed to construct the 4000Km+ barrier peacefully...

And There were troops present there even before the 1971 war,infact most of the refugee camps were of the Military's, But later the situation changed and turned to a major beef up before the war bugles were on.

I fought the 1971 War and let's put it this way, I have been responsible for Bengal a few years back.

But of course, if you say the border is bristling with troops so be it.

Maybe I am blind!

Be rest assured, I am not a cyber warrior, but have had the honour to don the Olive Green (not Khaki, if you know what I mean!) uniform for many many years.
