but what's wrong in assuming India as the aggressor??? basically that's how the doctrine's are made...you play defense assuming enemy will attack and vice-versa to check your effectiveness, no??

That is not how all the doctrines are made. In Pakistan's case this is especially untrue. Pakistan cant just make its strategies based on defense against when it is outnumbered so vastly. Pakistan will run out of ammo in 20-25 days(as simple as that). Remember what Israel did in six day war when they they were hopelessly outnumbered , they attacked with everything that they had and actually defeated their enemy.

So as @blackjack points out there is a MAJOR flaw in the article

Not my opinion, I was commenting on the line taken by the author when he suggests that for unimpeded economic growth, India will have to compromise with Pakistan which (again according to him) has less to lose(again presumably because he does not think much of Pakistan's economy).

So you wish. What will you say to the whole world that accuses Pakistan of aiding and abetting terrorism. Your so called allies US, UK and the rest of NATO do not trust you. They carry our drone strikes now and then. They dont share actionable intelligence fearing Pakistan to be a rouge state that can't be trusted. That is so embarrassing and yet you wish India does what you think is good for Pakistan after Mumbai 26/11.

it was a doctrine to reduce our deployment time drastically ...by the use of railways ,airlift etc simultaneously..

what effect it has on the Pakistani psyche ,definitely surpasses the original strategists wildest imagination.

Mr. Aryan a word is like an arrow, once left from the bow cannot be taken back. From the lines posted by you, you seem to be under the belief that no one from Pakistan was linked with the Mumbai attacks. Now if u want to believe the line that it happened to silence Mr. karkare it is your pre rogerative, however i request u to have the decency of not making something like Mumbai attack sound silly by posting quotes like "you didn't do $hit so STFUP". Please don't take the silence of this country as granted.

As you said, its pretty standard trash that's churned out every month or two to remind us of how dangerous it is to attack an 'irrational' power like Pakistan. The reality is that Pakistan has no option but to keep playing up its trigger happy image to afford itself some sense of security. Hopefully the IA gets its head on straight within the next four years so the CSD is at least partially feasible. If we're lucky RAW might learn a new trick or two by then as well. With the WoT and economic collapse looming, it should be enough of a threat to keep terrorism to a minimum.

It hardly has anything to do with bravery. India would've achieved little by attacking Pakistan save for perhaps a little dignity. Our politicians have squandered most of that away in any case though so it doesn't really matter. Its simply easier for India to pressure Pakistan diplomatically and have its way in Kashmir than it is to give Pakistan an excuse to pull away from its western front and destabilize a growing ally in Afghanistan.

Besides, a bomb or two doesn't do much in the grand scheme of things now does it? I mean look at your own country for example, Pakistan is still standing (to an extent). India probably responded with some well placed intelligence to your enemies, like the attack on PNS Mehran.

I would beg to differ....Doctrines are made keeping everything in mind....In fact it is logical to see how good would be your defenses should India chose to be aggressive....It is like preparing for the worst...Similarly you also want to know how effective you would be should you chose to be aggressive.....

From the army perspective India is the enemy and they will consider it as an aggressor for improving their defenses and vice-versa...so once again what is wrong if PA is considering India as aggressor and working on improving her defense???
