India to study Pakistan's one-dish wedding law to cut food wastage

i m sorry to spoil party here. i m not really comfortable with this idea of one dish wedding. tell us honestly wat do all of us want a one dsh wedding or a grand wedding. i know some of us will idealistically say they want one dish wedding but wen they do get married they will ensure its a grand affair.

i do not support wastages in wedding or any function. i think there are ways to cut down expenditure. we can all start by eliminating wasteful expenditure and all show sha baazi. but i wont cut down on food and entertainment. its a special moment and guys and gals have all the right to feast and enhance their "paunches'.

yes we can all make an effort and tell baraatis not to waste food. wat is required is basic civic sense of not wasting food and not some draconian law which will be manipulated at each wedding.

actually the issue is not just the wasting of food. . . without this law the rich people will have weddings with more and luxurious dishes and the poor can get about 2. .

this marks a difference between the rich and the poor. . . so by this law the wedding is from a rich family or a poor family. Both have to come up with one dish. .

in old style dinner at indian weddings , the baraties used to seat on carpet in-line and the food were served accordingly , just like the "langers" at the gurudwaras........ that will help reduce food wastage ..

i am not agree with one dish concept....

But in my village it starts after 12.00 am.

well the 10 p.m law and the law for one dish implements only if the wedding is in a marriage hall or in an open ground. . But if you have a house big enough for a marriage and you do celebrate the wedding over there then the law does not applies. . .

Its a good law, India should also implement it without giving heed to whether its followed by its rival or not. Food should not be wasted, especially in our countries where so many go to sleep hungry.

utter bull shi.t .. not gonna work .. unless people realise the wastage. during peak wedding seasons thousands of wedding takes place in one day even in small cities forget metros and large cities. how are they going to monitor all the weddings . can be applied to senior politician and beaurocrates though :coffee:

In that case, some awards can be offered to any informer who will report to the police on where one-dish-law is breaking. Like 20-30% of the fine by govt will go to informer, lol. That will also create a new job sector, lol.

BD should follow that law too. But extra foods can be distributed to poors as alternative solution.
