Coming back to the topic (well almost), can someone tell me why the Indian navy is buying TWO new classes of diesel attack subs? Can't we standardise on one platform, and buy a few more nuclear subs from russia? Do we need conventional attack subs at all, are they cheaper to operate and maintain than nuclear subs?
