No offense but seriously its been long time since i first heard that MRCA news since that day i always visit indian section to check-out whether the MRCA has decided or not but......

Believe me today when i red the article i thought now its coming but...always rumors and speculation

BTW my gut feeling is your government will go for American fighters .Specially after the continuous visits of american officials trying to add more sweets along with MRCA

I think they will take one more year. They want to delay it deliberately. I like the game. This is a bargaining game to make other deals cheaper and possible. Once all of them are done then they will announce the MRCA. Just a nice politics for my thinking.

After Obama & Sarcozy's visit, both America & France are happy. Now Medvedev will come and sign the single biggest deal for 5th gen. fighter and subs. may be. The only people who are not coming are Germans who will be providing the EU Typhoon. With the offer given by EU, its clear even they are asking a bit more money than others, they are the winner[Feal free to argue but EUfighter Typhoon fighter is the winner]. By giving this deal to EU typhoon, India will be able to get close to 4 imp. Apart from this they are also making IN as dere 5th partner and they are even ready to transfer some of the consortiums manufacturing to India (Plz. correct me if i m not wrong). Now money is not important in the deal as now this deal is mainly about International politics. India has not revealed the winner just because its possible that some of the participating nations might give some fancy deal along with this deal. By the way, if EU typhoon wins, we will get the best fighter in the market.
But I hope India should also think about Gripen NG offer. Saab offer is the best offer in my opinion but I have doubt whether they are able to fulfill the offer as many of the Gripen parts are from US and hence requires US consent. But if its true, then India cannot ask for any better deal than this.
But still my money is on EUfighter typhoon.

^^^^^ haa haa very funny analysis.. no country would be happy to loose this big deal because they are getting other orders.. because $12 billion is not the only money involved.. if you buy an Fighter its maintenance/service, support + upgrade cost ... lot of money is involved in future..

America will do anything to get the deal.. but how things are going to mature on CISMOA is what we will see in 3 months..

Logically 70% we will end up buying American fighter... if things are smooth...
else we will end up buying Rafale or EFT..
who knows may be saab also..
