India State vs China Province vs Countries GDP Comparison (1993-2017)

Not surprised about Guangdong/Jiangsu/Shandong.

I hope Zhejiang and Henan provinces can reach one-trillion-dollar.

And more provinces in the 0.5-1 trillion bracket.

Every country has something to be learned from, Maharashtra is doing not bad.

Maharashtra is the financial centre of India in Mumbai and so it's GDP is not really a reflection of the true living standards in the state.

I see little that China can learn from India. Look at it this way, India looks more to learn from BD than the other way round.

Learning is neutral, it is a good learning from every kind of experience.
It's also worth learning from USA in terms of drug epidemic, of course it is a bad thing.

I thought Mumbai is an independent territory.

Shanghai separated from Jiangsu Province in early 20th century.
In 1958, another 10 counties from Jiangsu merged into Shanghai.

I am all for smaller provinces.
Big cities steal all the thunder!
My hometown should be an independent municipality!
So should be Shenzhen and likes.
Then there will be new star cities in the original provinces.

This is how Chongqing becomes what it is today after separation from Sichuan!
a win-win decision for all
The Chengdu-Chongqing dilemma was settled. (2 equally big cities in former Sichuan Province)

They wanted to make Mumbai a provincial city like Delhi which is able to deal directly with the central government actually, but the constitution doesn't allow them.

Yeah, different policies are required for different environment. There's no one-size-fits-all policy. Policies must be specific to suit the localized environment to maximize effectiveness. 因地制宜,对症下药。
