for a nation of 1.2 billion this is surely nothing...it is less then the population of my hometown Chandigarh...so relax it is like adding one city to India...just for records i am neither in favor nor against it...

Thank you for showing the true face of india.

I could have put it across more succinctly but its a hard fact, India is finding it difficult to cope with its own gigantic population without being infused by a few more radicals, This goes with Bangladeshis too, they have been rankling on the Akand Bharath BS and that India has designs of taking over BD in the future..I don't think so, we cannot manage more population. If the maldivian population had been hindu then getting them into the mainstream of Indian populace would have been slightly easier.

Its my opinion in the end and not of India's or Indians posting here.

If they are spread evenly its not an issue but if into a single place its catastrophe..

well maldives is in a serious threat as the water level is rising higher and their land could be the first to sink they are thinking of buying new islands and if they dont want that then they can merge with a country but i doubt that since noone will get the land and only people and all three shore countries are dealing with their own immigrants and are not too open hearted rather i think they should buy some higher plain islands and make an immigration to them since global warming is not stopping and the sea level is rising

If Maldives sink, there are a lot of places in India that would sink along with it especially Lakshwadeep, some island of A & N, many coastal cities in Indian Mainland..I don't understand where we will find home for half a million people when Indians themselves will be looking for dry land. Better they go to countries like Australia, KSA etc who have land to spare.
