India might have slipped in the rankings, but that doesn't mean that the conditions have worsened. India slipped in the ranking simply because there are more countries now included in the list. There were 121 in the last index and 141 in this one.
If you look at the Child Development Index score it has actually improved.
From 31.22 in 1995-1999, to 28.72 in 2000-2004 and down to 23.46 in 2005-2010. (
Smaller the score the better). So we are headed in the right direction.
Quite sad to see the usual suspects using something as grim as this to have a go at India.

India is atleast 10 years ahead of Pakistan as far as Child Development in concerned.
India's CDI score in 1995-1999= 31.22, Pakistan's CDI score in 2005-2010 = 30.15
So thank you for your fake concerns and sympathy, time to sort your own house maybe?.
