India puts coastal radar network plan on fast-track

That damn Prasun Chor Gupta is shamelesly claiming that all the electro optical systems and radars were imported. What a fu**ing liar!!!!

A liar is always a liar. What more can we expect from the CP guta?

Electro-optical systems may be developed with Technical Assistance of foreign companies because BEL is still not in Position to independently develop such High End Product on its very own.
But It gave a great opportunity to Prasul Chor ***** to bash Indian Developments and to lobby foreign companies.

Dude if BEL can build electro-optical sensors for navy ships why they cannot for coastal surv. Few of the system may be bought ots but the system is developed by BEL.

what a joke, it says the radar network also add Sri Lanka, already old 2D Indian radars replaced by 3D Israeli radars in Sri Lanka.

Calling something unknown to you a joke make yourself a joke and that is not new. The 2D low flying detection radar is old but still one of the best of its kind.

Sri Lanka have many other friends, we wont join India for any issue like this... It's not our interest....
Just order Rajapaksa.

Actions better then words, our president already offered Hambantota port to China, Now he also signed the Colombo port deal with China, he is doing well, i dont need to tell him.

That 'many friends' come close to China only!!! BTW the port deal is nothing it was offered to India as well while he is offering your land for Indian coastal surveillance network.

i dont need to tell him.
Do not just tell, order him. It is your wish, which is an order for him. Your post reflects Its not the Rajapaksa govt that decides policy for SL but you are.

Thats wat i want to say.
BTW My mind still thinks that BEL cant develop that independently I mean it must have taken help from DRDO

That's very much possible. These organisation has developed passive thermal imaging seekers for Nag and PDV missiles and thermal imagers for IN ships and the upgraded 40mm Bofors L70 anti air craft guns. But that does not mean the system is imported. In that way,the good for nothing Chor Gupta is degrading two world class organisations.Wha t the fu**ing hell!!!!

With China working overtime to extend its influence in the Indian Ocean, India is now giving the final touches to its plan for setting up a coastal radar network along the Maldives coast as well as other countries including Sri Lanka and Mauritus.
The Navy is also likely to carry out similar task of enhancing maritime security in Bangaldesh after PM Manmohan Singh’s visit next week, said sources.
Thats pretty cool. I hope we will keep the radars in Sri Lanka, Mauritus and Bangaldesh also plugged in our system just like Maldives one.

That will be a great move. But question here to ask is,will Bangladesh allow us to link their radars with our grid or set up our radars in their land????With their current relationship with PRC,it seems very very difficult if not impossible to me.Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
REGARDS........................

I already transferred this news item to Sri Lanka Air force media division, This is a false news item, when SLAF issues the official statement denying this I will post a separate thread about it.

Sri Lanka denies Indian NDTV report on war crimes allegations against Sri Lanka army

Sri Lankan parliamentarian and Adviser on Reconciliation to the President Prof. Rajiva Wijesinha today denied an Indian media report which said he admitted that some army personnel may be guilty of alleged war crimes during the last phase of the war with LTTE.

Wijesinha has told the local Daily Mirror that he did not make any such statements.

"I did not say anyone was found guilty of killing civilians during the final phase of the war. In fact I pointed out that the general allegations about indiscriminate attacks on civilians were easily shown to be exaggerated if not false," Daily Mirror quoted the MP.

India's NDTV reported that according to Wijesinha some army personnel have been found guilty of killing civilians during the final phase of the war against the LTTE, and accordingly action will be taken against them.

The NDTV said Wijesinha has revealed that the LLRC has already made some reports calling for potential indictment of some army personnel.

"I said nothing categorical about LLRC decisions because these are not in the public domain except for the initial recommendations," Wijesinha told the Daily Mirror.

According to the NDTV report, Wijesinha has said that someone has been indicted in the Eastern Province where there is impunity.

"But we are not going to make the trial public. We are not going to make a song and dance of it," NDTV quoted Wijesinha.

Wijesinha has denied saying there is impunity in the Eastern Province.

"I obviously did not say there was impunity in the Eastern Province, I said there were allegations that there had been impunity, and said those allegations were wrong for the reason I then gave," he told the Daily Mirror.

Wijesinha has also noted that there should be an investigation on the "white flag" story, NDTV reported. He has expressed hope that the LLRC would recommend an investigation into the incident.

Foolish Indian media reporting false news about Sri Lanka

@ Lankan Ranger
With all due respect man, don't you think accepting the above two things will have consequences for SL ? I mean if SL agrees the genocide they committed then wouldn't they be tried in International Court? Just look at what is happening in Middle east. I mean the situation in SL was way bad than what we have seen anywhere in the recent outrage in middle east and N Africa. During the time the operation was going on a lot voices were raised but it was India who tried to calm them down so that the menace of LTTE can be put to an end but instead people in Colombo still consider us enemy. I mean why the hell LTTE was formed in the first place ? It was the genocide committed by SL forces which led to the formation of LTTE.

That will be a great move. But question here to ask is,will Bangladesh allow us to link their radars with our grid or set up our radars in their land???
I don't think Bangladesh will say no especially when a great deal of attention is being paid to them. Bangladesh received the largest help last from India. Not to mention if India pays for coastal security then they won't say know and we can secretly keep an eye on the radar. Bangladesh might even agree officially because its not hurting them.

this is a thread about BEL and its radars not about Sri lanka cut the BS and get on topic
I thought the project for coastal security was given to SAAB. BEL was no nowhere in the scene then how come BEL is talking about this ? Is this some other project ?

i think they have enough sufficient R&D to make there own radars and whatnot if you ask me i think the Entire electronics labs of the DRDO should be merged with BEL and it should be privatized, in the past the DRDO usually designs the radars while BEL just manufactures them through TOT however this time i think BEL has designed its own radar
