India Nuclear TRIAD is ready AFTER Nerpa (Akula class nuke Sub) arrives

However taking this opportunity, I'd say that to command a powerful triad we need a powerful and pro-nation government which this government is not. It has to either leave or be forced to leave.

That's why we have something called elections in the country. If it is the will of a maority of people that the same government should continue, you cannot force it to leave. If it is the will of the majority that the government has to leave, they cannot stay even if they wanted to. Other than elections, there is no way of forcing them out - and thats a good thing. It ensures that a small powerful group cannot impose a government upon the people. Nobody can govern without the consent of the governed.

Thats not what Russians says and if its true then its not a SSN...
Also i have a question, even if Nerpa can fire a ballistic missile, what difference does it makes ? Russia is not giving us a ballistic missile and we cannot fit any missile in the tubes of nerpa...either we make a missile which can be used in Nerpa or just use the cruise missile but that won't help India in completing the triads.

Who knows whether it ferries ballistic missiles or not. No one knows the actual deal and what is inside that Sub. One thing is sure, when time will come..... This Sub will give lots of shocks and surprises to opponents.

Akula 2's are known for being very silent thanks to some Japanese technology sold to the Soviets :azn: America was not pleased to say the least.

As usual, TOIlet media has let us down again with pathetic journalism. Our nuclear triad isn't complete. Nerpa is leased to train the IN sailors in operating nuclear submarine for INS Arihant nuke submarines. I doubt a lease submarine could be ever effectively used in war.

no nuke triad is complete ... let me tell you why... thr is norm in UN that no one can buy nuke submarine .. so we have to lease it... and thr is another norm that if lease is more than a decade for any machinery... than the host nation has full right to continue its use that means buy it :)

Guys Akula 2 is a lease for training purpose in order for our own Arihant crews to be ready and that will be the basis of our Triad.

Akula 2 is very capable SSN ... it can carry future versions of Brahmos and SHaurya ...may be K-15 so not just for training purposes... we already had nuke submarine leased from Russia a decade back..

Nuclear triad is not complete. Nuclear triad means a second strike capability by means of Sea. The K-15 missile (Sagarika) can be fitted with a nuclear warhead but it needs to be launched vertically. SSNs cannot fire ballistic missiles since it needs vertical launch tubes which the Akula does not have. Its a hunter, not a boomer. Arihant will have vertical tubes so once Arihant joins the fleet and the K-15 missile inducted will we have a true triad. Long term we need the A5 sub launched for a true triad.

Akula is a good starting point, I hope Arihant goes operational soon.

klub cruise missiles are nuke capable that are coming with AKula 300kms.. same with Brahmos and Shaurya..

No Skull, you mixed up the names of the subs. The one you mean is the the Typhoon class SSNB, which is it's NATO name, Russian calles it Akula. The SSN we get, has the NATO name Akula class, the Russians call it Shchuka.
So the Typhoon class SSBN can fire balistic missiles of course, but not even Russia would sell or lease it to us, because that's against all international agreements.
The Akula class SSN instead, could only fire torpedos or cruise missiles like the Klub S from the torpedo tubes, but the main aim behind the lease of this sub is training of crews for the service on indigenous developed SSNs and SSBNs. It's not clear what kind of weaponary it will have and since our Kilo class subs has Klub S now too, I wouldn't rule it out for the Nerpa too.
