I don't think we will be going for all of them.

IAF made that costly mistake and in 90s we were suffering for it.
Maximum we will have two types of subs; French-German, French-Russian or French-Japanese.

You forgot Russian Nepra class and Indian Arihant Class. Ofcourse they are nuclear.
not Nerpa but Akula class and of course Indian Arihant class but they are SSNs, here we are talking about diesel-electric submarines.
Soryu class is a beast!!! I think it will be best for us. Armed with Brahmos-H they will be a kill. But MoD should be fast, our submarine fleet is depleting.
I dont think Japan will allow us to integrate Brahmos with Soryu, even if they allow, Russia may obeject.
BTW what is Brahmos H
.
Why will Russia object? We are the ones who are buying majority of the missiles right now. More BrahMos for India means more money for them as well. Like that Harpoon deal we are doing which doesn't seem right when we already have ship capable BrahMos missiles.
Oh man, looks like Parikkar has his job in front of him. To get Soryu into IN, he will have to convince Nakatani, Abe and the way articles are being written, even emperor Akihito.
@Nihonjin1051 san, any comments? Do you think His Majesty would approve should it come down to this?
Not to mention negotiate with Russians to some level.
What is Brahmos H?

The Hypersonic version that is right now being developed. It will be able to hit targets between Mach 5-7.
At that speed, it will be invincible.
Imagine what it could do when we put a small tactical nuke warhead on it.![]()
Thanks for Info but Brahmos II wont come before 2023.
Any link?
It has been in testing stage for 3 years. The initial date was expected to see it in service next year or 2017 max.
BrahMos-II or BrahMos-2 or BrahMos Mark II (note: not to be confused with BrahMos block-2) is a hypersonic cruise missile currently under joint development by India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Russia'sNPO Mashinostroeyenia, which have together formed BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited. It is the second of the BrahMos series of cruise missiles. The BrahMos-II is expected to have a range of 290 kilometres (180 mi) and a speed of Mach 7. During the cruise stage of flight the missile will be propelled by a scramjetairbreathing jet engine.[1][2] Other details, including production cost and physical dimensions of the missile, are yet to be published.[3][4][5] It is expected to be ready for testing by 2017.[6]
May be only 2-3 newer ones can serve till 2030. But most of them will be retired by 2025.Kilos will be here for another 15 years.
