@Armstrong
This is from my side to you....

I don't know about slavery but things like child labor is something that I'm against.

From your side ? Does that mean that you're the monkey ? :sarcastic:

@SarthakGanguly - I always imagined Levina Apa more like Lady Galadriel from Lord of the Rings but if she'd rather be a monkey.....who am I to disagree ? :unsure:

Yup Child Labor is wrong but also Bonded Labor; I dunno about India but in Pakistan especially in the brick kiln industry its still prevalent !

And there is also that other kind of Bonded Labor that I've heard about how people take a loan from someone and when they can't pay it back they work for that person till they pay off the amount's worth. Whats worse the interest keeps collecting on the principle and I've heard of instances of years upon years going by till its finally over.

Down in Sindh, I've read and heard, some farmers also work their feudal's landlords lands for generations at an end with the landlord owning those people all but legally. Its most unfortunate that these Waderas never allowed Land Reforms to take place.

I guess bonded labor is a curse on our subcontinent.
I said child labor because all of us would know of that one family where a kid (tween or teen) would be working and nobody would resist.

That's true.

India has more slaves than any other country - Economic Times

India has more slaves, than the rest of the world COMBINED.

Funny how they keep calling us "slaves" as some sort of insult, when the whole world knows that India has more slaves than the rest of the world combined, that's just a statistical fact. And it doesn't even count lower castes or anything like that.

where are u from ??? just asking.

Slavery is a disgrase to any human .............its inhumane and dark spot on our race.

as economic progress and more integration of people to the system happens ....slavery will reduce.

hopefully "PM jan dhan yojna" will bring poor people into the system
