MUSCAT: Prime Minister Yusaf Raza Gilani Tuesday asked India not to hold the dialogue process hostage to the November 2008 Mumbai attacks.

“There is no communication gap with India on resolving core issue of Kashmir and other outstanding issues. This impression should be dispelled that there is lack of communication. However, there is lack of trust,” he told Omani newsmen.

Gilani said Pakistan desires resumption of dialogue with India to resolve all outstanding issues and spoke of talks with his Indian counterpart Dr Manmohan Singh during which he asked him that one incident should not hinder talks. “Resolving the Kashmir issue is vital for regional stability. Pakistan wished to discuss all core issues including Kashmir, and India too had agreed on it.”

Regarding the presence of terrorist groups along the Pak-Afghan border, Gilani said both countries realize they are “victims of common enemy. We should combat terrorism with a joint strategy. NATO forces and ISAF are working in consultation with Pakistan, Afghanistan to jointly combat terrorism.”

On terrorism, extremism, Gilani said Pakistan is following 3Ds policy of dialogue, development and deterrence. “Terrorists are hitting soft targets but have now lost their stronghold.”

Prime minister Gilani added that his visit to Oman will further expand economic, trade cooperation. “I discussed whole gamut of cooperation in meeting with Sultan Qaboos and Deputy Premier. It was agreed both countries will have cooperation in textiles, fishing, education, development in Gwadar. My interaction with Minister of External Liaison gave opportunity to agree on multi-dimensional cooperation in defence, maritime sectors. We also agreed to work out feasibility to run ferry service between Gwadar & Muscat. Pakistan and Oman have excellent defence cooperation and efforts are on to materialize agreement.”

Why don't you guys punish the 26/11 terrorists?... India will not have any excuse to hold back the dialogue process

and when dialogue process starts , they play to the galeries and make all type of faces and made all types of statements at the press conferences...

and do rock climbing at kargil..

At the moment the Indian govt is focused on scams ... I am sure they will get to the table once their a$$ is safe.

Actually it is GoP that is playing the captor by not punishing the 26/11 perperators. Indian stand is consistent - Punish them and then we will talk. And this is what ANY nation attacked in such a way will do.

and do rock climbing at kargil..

:lol::lol:

By not prosecuting 26/11 attackers, GoP is holding talks hostage.

Otherwise, before 26/11 the Kashmir issue was after all moving towards a resolution which got delayed due to Musharraf's antics.

How about India's delaying tactics before 26/11. You Indians are good in Lying Continuous and Deceiving. How about your Alleged Sponsoring of Terrorism in Pakistan.
