People in India may start migrating to water-rich countries, according to the conservationist Rajendra Singh, who says over 70 percent of the country has dried up.

Water is going to be the biggest problem in sub-continent in the years to come. Luckily we have build quite good number of Dams etc. And the river linking project will hopefully stop the situation from going worse...

instead of wasting money on failed space missions and brutality against kashmiris india should focus on proper water management

Whats the water situation is like in Pakistan?

Problem in sub continent is either too much rain in some areas and too less in others. Either it will be flood or draught. Thats where the river linking will be useful. But yes i agree its the biggest problem the whole region is going to face...

Problem is only mismanagement. Whole year people complain for lack of water. But when it rains we have no reservoirs.

I still remember there used to rains continuously for weeks when i was a child. now its totally different. Nowhere near those level of rains...
Deforestation, just look at how much deforestation Bharat has done.Pakistan was already not having any forest, but we have done fair amount of deforestation also.
Than couple this with climate change and we have got recipe for disaster.

Which country hasn't thats the question! We all have done our part of damage to the climate.

People are opposing dams because their leaders have told them the water will lose energy if we produce electricity from it and it will of no use.

Ha Ha. There are jokes here as well about it. A leader once said that Haryana is having poor crops because people from punjab take out power (electricity) from it...
