Are any of the listed States even interested in joining SAARC? If they are, absolutely make them a part of SAARC!1) If its only about economy, then for those supporting China membership of SAARC, why don't they request Russia, US, EU, Japan, UAE and Austraila also to join SAARC.
If by that other country you mean ChinaAnd one country just nixes any agreement reached by others on orders from another country.![]()
If by that other country you mean China
than the question remains why aren't countries like Bangladesh and Srilanka opposed to China's entry???
and plz we all know Pakistan has concerns about that transportation agreement with regards to Indian access to Afghanistan
Pakistan will again push for Chinese membership at the next summit in Islamabad to be held in 2016. All other SAARC members except India are either neutral or in favor of Chinese membership. India is alone in this. We will not let any agreement take shape which allow India to realise its little delusions of being the mini superpower in S.Asia. Having Beijing in SAARC makes sense as it will keep India in its senses. India is broke, China can also finance major SAARC projects.![]()

Yeah rightPakistan has concerns with any nation that opposes terrorism,,specifically its right hand man,,the good taliban aka haqqani network.
They are less of threat to us than to u,,,slowly and slowly they will destroy all ur local industry by cheap stuff wile giving u a lollypop of cheap loans.
On topic why not pakistan leave saarc alltogether when it has nothing to contribute??It opposed all the agreements agreed by all other member states on connectivity etc.
Many guys are behaving like kids,,,no wonder forum is going down the drain.
Nope - Pakistan has significant concerns on her end (irrespective of whether China becomes a part of SAARC or not) regarding the impact of cheap imports from India and their impact on Pakistani industry, and Indian non-tariff barriers to imports. And one country just nixes any agreement reached by others on orders from another country.![]()

Pakistan is a misfit in SAARC. Pakistan's natural allies are to the North and West. It has nothing or should have nothing to do with South Asia.

There is no domination in economically. Were markets to open up with China and India, the result would be slightly different - China would take manufacturing, India would take away the services."Economic domination" would occur once trade was liberalized and SAARC markets opened to member States. With China as a SAARC member, open markets in SAARC would be much less likely to be dominated by a single State, India.
If just increased economic ties are the goal - then it makes more sense to have Japan, France and US along with China in SAARC as well. They have as much economic justification - as key investors, donors, developmental assistance providers as China and infact larger than China in these assistance's .What is the tangible benefit from that kind of relationship?
If increased economic ties are not the goal, then SAARC is useless, and if increased economic ties are the goal, then the inclusion of China in SAARC makes perfect sense.
How exactly will exporting "fruits, vegetables and cement" to India significantly impact Pakistan's economic growth rate? Then happy 4% growth rate for future too.
What is there to imagine?Imagine if China vetos Indian induction in SCO. Pakistan will be an SCO member, ECO as well as SAARC while we'll get an observer status in GCC too. We don't wan't to be in SAARC but we have to be there so we can spoil your party by itroducing a bigger fish to the pond![]()
