India, Bangladesh to Be Dominant Members of 7% Club, Says StanChart’s Jha

It is futile to argue with this idiot. I have said in other post, he will continue to whine no matter how better Bangladesh's economic performance is. Bangladesh is growing 7-8 percent and industrial expansion happening at double digit. Still this idiot whining day and night. Imagine if Bangladesh was similar condition like some other countries who are struggling to grow. I bet, this traitor will continue to bad mouth Bangladesh, even if we become developed country somehow. Then he will harp about how this developed status is just an illusion or it will not last long. Then he will post a picture of homeless Bangladeshi in the street and claim, see, Bangladesh is not developed. This whining bitch has turned into even bigger traitor than idune was. Look at his posts now, doing tango with foreign trolls and tagging us to show his dancing skill.

I don’t know one thing, why he is hell bent of proving Bangladesh can not prosper, Development is not possible in Bangladesh, Bangladesh can’t focus on 4IR and so on. If Bangladesh don’t focus on emerging techs how Bangladesh and its youth will compete with the world after 10-20 years? This guy is just sitting with 1IR and 2IR.

I have pretty much given up on that dude.

I am now on an 8 month ignore, having started with 2 weeks, 4 weeks etc. The idea was that he will eventually get the message and be amenable to reason.
I think he is permanently lost now and so will probably never unignore him again.

Let him whine and bitch about BD all day long as it will not change the reality of BD's growth story.
That's good, I am also not willing to waste my time anymore with this whining idiot. He is an extremely negative minded self hating bigot. Plain and simple.

An idea of his self-contradicting personality:

He thinks Japanese are gods but then rubbishes Dhaka RSTP 2035 that will upgrade the infrastructure in and around Dhaka to world-class standards.

Despite the fact that I have told him multiple times that Japan will both mainly finance(40 billion US dollars) and construct the infrastructure and already the first metro line, busway and elevated expressway is in construction, he keeps claiming that this is another one of those futuristic predictions by BD.:cuckoo:

This imbecile think, to enjoy the benefit of e-mail and smartphone, we have to start from using Telegraph and analog Telephone. Unless we master those outdated technology, we should refrain from using e-mail and smartphone. That's why he is talking about steam engine.

Don't worry Bd got special formula to avoid middle income traps, so it useless to do the dirty jobs like what Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia doing by growing their manufacturing sector, build up basic industry like steel and automotive sectors along with communication parts, chemical and petro industry complex, setting up vocational schools and relevant work force for dirt industry like shipyards, steel, and other manufacturing parts all will be bypassed by embrace 4th generation industrial revolution and reach sky-high developed status .

We are in ASEAN is fool here, and still mingled at dirt jobs and dirty our hands with oil, and plate steel making to build car, motorcycle, car engines or spoiled our eyes while making Hard disk, chips and processor, RAM or playing muds and growing palm oils and processed them towards cooking oil, soaps, margarine, synthetic chemical compounds or even sources for Nitric acid solution compound for our explosive industry.

Why are BD ppl even comparing with Brazil lol. OMG. Just no limit to their fat dreams haha

Reach the level of Brazil first and doing something like them, than talk about Developed phase. You even still stuck at LDC phase

yah 2 dollars invested outside per person by these shonar folks.

Then they focus in on 20k per capita countries being in "middle income trap" lol.

Then they cry 10 pages about someone simply insinuating equivalency with Bhutan also expressed concern on something.

These people are so funny. Like a kid that got its first candy (given to it by others) and already dreaming of what its going to do when it is a millionaire.

Brazil is a highly industrial nation with steel, automotive and everything but they got stuck in middle income trap. Its a dangerous economic model and only a very few countries could avoid.
It is almost the same as with Russia. With all its experience throughout two centuries and its current technological might, its per capita GDP remains stuck at about $11,440. But, you have to understand one thing from your own comment that even with centuries of manufacturing experience many countries remain stuck in the middle-income trap.

So, what is your idea about the future of BD when its people are even incapable to build the simple 1IR industries? I can foresee its economic demise when some other countries with cheap labor compete with their garments? This is why it is necessary to build up the industrial manufacturing sector before that happens.

Almost all the countries started with textiles, silk or cotton, and moved up to the manufacturing of industrial goods. It is true also for the USA that started with supplying raw silk, cotton, and food to Europe. Japan started with raw silk export sometime during the 19th Century when the US silk farms were infested with insects. Japan simultaneously moved towards cotton textiles/garments. It did not stop there. Both countries started to develop their manufacturing industries during that period.

Many other countries tried to emulate Japan, but not many were successful, for example, Brazil and Argentine. But, BD politicians are leading the country to a sure demise by talking about rocket science and not about Manufacturing of Things. With its experience of exporting silk for many centuries in the past, only very recently, China is successfully going through this process of manufacturing. We should emulate China.

Why do you think Bangladesh is building 100 SEZ, electronic cities, high tech parks, ICT parks? What will be their purpose? Do you think Government is talking about rocket science and 4IR means stopped all other development works? Stops creating manufacturing jobs?

So many economic news has been posted here and you should have a clear idea on this by now unless you have forgotten or never opened the threads.

Russia is not a middle income country rather a high income country.
In a trapped middle income country there will be a significant rural population living on subsidy with clay foot whereas a sizable portion of the people living like king. To subsidize the low income group the high income groups are taxed highly who are reluctant to invest further as middle income wages are high for low tech companies.

Russia took care of that problem while under USSR. They did not wait for natural progression but forced people to urbanize and industrialize. Even though they have relatively lower GDP/capita compared to western world, they still have a developed society with higher income.

You already answered your question regarding Bangladesh and how it should proceed. It should emulate Japan or korea and move gradually from low tech industries to high tech industries. But, as BD got too many people who are rural and clay footed, can not be absorbed in high tech economy. So we should keep investing on Garments, Lather and other labor intensive industries so that they can be integrated in the organized sector as many as possible. Unless we have all the ingredients to become another country trapped in middle income group.

In next 20 years most of the low paid, manufacturing jobs will be automated.

Just a new report has come out. Bangladesh should focus heavily on net emerging technologies. Otherwise very tough time is waiting for Bangladesh. Building steam engine and using telegraph the issue is not going to be resolved.

I dont see that happening..
No matter what BD needs to find a way to absorb 80 million of its labor force to integrate in the organized sector.

It is manufacturing instead of importing all our finished goods. A nation has to go through many stages of development. It all depends upon the availability or not of natural resources and fuel. BD lacks resources but has plenty of manpower. So, it will have to go for manufacturing industries the products of which will be consumed mainly by the population themselves, only a small part being exported to import raw materials and fuel. It will be cyclic.

Our hasina is a typical political person. Most of her words are geared towards the brainless class of Bangladesh. Because, they are the majority here. She is neither good or bad compared other deshi politicians.

National leaders of any country are required to guide the country towards progress and development in all the meanings of these words. But, our leaders believe in Chapabazi and every minister competes with each other to fabricate and lie all the time. However, you are right to say that the people in BD love to hear the Chapabazis and clap with profound enjoyment. However, my regret is in this discussion forum many BD posters love to repeat the falsehood in an effort to make people believe in those.
