China has taken the right steps. Now it needs to continue to mold a regional alliance which consists of Pakistan, Iran and other like-minded nations. By linking various regional countries together dependency on the West is most likely to diminish. In turn, Western economic threats and sanctions can be averted. Supreme regional goals and interests can be achieved. It is very VERY important for China to act as the glue holding others together. Strong alliances win wars and long term objectives. The Americans can be countered very effectively if China can form a strong alliance with important regional actors.
