South Korea and India have reaffirmed a commitment to collaborate in defence production, it was announced on 29 December.
A statement issued following the India-South Korea joint commission in Seoul said co-operation in defence equipment and technology holds "considerable possibilities".
In addition, the two countries also agreed to enhance collaboration in sectors including shipbuilding, electronics, energy and infrastructure development. The statement said South Korea and India were also keen to deepen co-operation in cyber security and civilian nuclear energy.
Leading the Indian delegation, external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj invited South Korean companies across all sectors to invest in India and transfer technologies to local companies as part of New Delhi's 'Make in India' policy to develop indigenous capabilities.
