Our GDP percentage spent on defence is still 3% In fact nuclear weapons have allowed Pakistan to avoid an arms race by slowing down conventional weapons upgrades. Nuclear weapons are that overpowering, you can spend so little and yet burn an entire country.

Look we are no match for India conventionally. Just today they completed their own GPS sat constellation by launching the 4th sat, which makes it operational. We are light years away from such achievements. We should accept this. Just maintaining a nuke capability for now is more than enough.

I am sorry to burst your bubble most defense thinker always compares you with Pakistan, hardly ever with China...everyone has accepted that India is no match for China.

Because most of the so called defence experts dont know anything about real capability of Indias program.
We would say our ICBM has only 5500km range .And these defence experts can only do their so called defence analysis with that specs .Since they dont know its actual range.
We always keep a low profile.

Same experts sometimes compare us with China,There is a thread in here about a comparison between Kolkata Class and theirType 52 destroyer(dont know its real name).You can check it.


Like I said Pakistan is not a comparison to us not anymore .

A nation having hardly 7billion$ defence budget should think twicev before they compare with their neighbour having 40 billion $.

Why should we waste our resource for a war with a failed state ?
War are different types.It doesnt mean a physical assault.
There is a Psychological warfare.Diplomatic and Economic War are some other types that is even more deadly than other types.

And we did that ,quite successfully.You have earned a reputation.I can explain that to you with two instances.

One is that our cancelleation of talks when you consulted with separatists.Back in 2003 when you signed that ceasefire deal with us ,You were in an equal position with us that demanding yourselves for negotiation with a free consultation with separatists.
Now you may point to the recent separatists meeting with High commission.But that is not for talks.
We cancelled formal.negotiation because a peace with Pakistan is now an insignificant matter to us.Our GoI didnt interested in it .So the citizens in India.



Second instance was during Obama visit in India .Entire Pak.medias and leaders were talking about Pakistan stand.
But both Obama and Modi didnt even.mentioned about Pakistans name.

For putting an insignificant nuisance in their place we dont need to overpower them.All we need to use our soft power .And wedid that with far more efficency.Our way of war concept is totally different than your concept which is totally outdated.
