India airlifts 42 Nepalis from Libya
HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI: A friend in need is a friend indeed and that's what the Indian government proved to be for 42 Nepalis, stranded in Libya. The Indian government has airlifted 42 Nepalis on its chartered flight from Tripoli to New Delhi.
"We cannot express in words how happy we are today. We had lost hope of survival. We have got a new life," one of the rescued Nepalis, Baua Kumar Raut of Udaypur, said on the premises of Nepali Embassy.
All the rescued Nepalis said their safe homecoming would not have been possible without the help of
the Indian Embassy in Tripoli, which managed to bring them safely from Misreta to Tripoli before flying them to Delhi.
