There are certain inaccuracies observed regarding india in this forum.i would like to comment on few of them:

1. Indians want to re-unite pakistan with india: I have observed some of my pakistani friends sayin that india wants to capture pakistan and re-unite it with india. HELL, NO. we r happy the way we r right now. I am sure division of india and subsequent blood bath has cast a lasting impression in the minds of indian and pakistani people. It was a terrible moment in the south asian history. though some of us still do not agree with two nation theory but there is no way we want to re-unite pakistan with india. pakistan and india are both indipendent nations and let them chart their own respective destinies.

2. Indians want pakistan to fail/disintegrate: only a insane person would want pakistan to fail/disintegrate. can u imagine wat will happen if pakistan breaks up into 4-5 independent states, all armed with nuclear weapons. wat will happen if some mullahs head govt in one of those states? they will hold not only india but whole world to hostage. so no one wants pakistan to fail. all senior officials have said this same thing repeatedly. although i grudgingly admit that some indians are happy that pakistan is getting the taste of same medicine (terrorism), which india got in early and mid ninties. some people say pakistan created this jihadi culture along with saudis and americans to beat soviets and now they r realising that this culture is very difficult to control and it spreads very fast. but here in lies the opportunity for india and pakistan to cooperate and fight this menace of terrorism together.

3. High caste hindus are ruling india and opressing dalits/minorities: This is a popular perception shared by several pakistani members. the fact is the most powerfull person in india right now is sonia ghandhi (a christian). Dr Manmohan singh is a sikh. our lok sabha speaker Mrs Mira kumar is a dailt. deputy chairman of planning commission montek singh alhluwalia is a sikh. the fact of the matter is if u have talent in india no one and absolutlely no one can stop u. all our major bollywood stars are muslim and we love them dont we. i agree several politicians and corrupt officials do use caste system and religion as a toll and suppress the weak but it doesnt mean it become the state policy of people sitting in delhi.

4. Maoists are working for opressed classes: Hell no. has anyone read their charter? they want to install a maosit regime in india through armed struggle. They have been inspired by success of maoists in nepal and think they can do the same here. if these people are working for oppressed classes, why r they burning hospitals and schools for girl in jharkhand? why r they targetting ambulances carrying sick people? i do agree some reforms are needed to give better liveli hood to backward classes like tribals, but the fact of the matter is these people do not care abt tribals or anybody else. they only want to instal their govt at centre.

5. India is using afghanistan to forment trouble in pakistan: i agree india is quietly eroding pakistani presence in afghanistani and taking away that strategic depth that pakistan had but it doesnt mean india is supporting militants in pakistan by giving arms or ammunitions. if pakistani govt so believes then why doesnt it show the proof to the whole world. indian consulates at best are indulging in spying operations in pakistan which i am sure all countries do.

P.S: a word of caution to trollers and false flag ones, please do not generate war historia here on this thread and pls stick to points mentioned and do not try to de-rail the thread.

other than point 1..things are arguable..
india doesn't want pakistan to fail true..but large number of indians doesn't want pak to do well also.
maoist are not aliens they themselves are oppressed people except top level leaders.they are motivated by wrong ideology..such as over throw the govt and actions such as killings innocents and destroying public property is wrong. i believe their grievances are genuine and we still can bring them back.
cast system is still there in our minds(mostly in minds of elders, across all religion ) but we don't show or express it publicly but in remote remote villages it is more open and visible.

i agree caste system is still prevalent in india but some people do take advantage of this repress the lower casts but the situation is not as bad as it is made out to be. there is no country in the worl which can claim the weak were not repressed at some point of time in history. we all wat blacks suffered in america.

i do not agree that maoists are for working for repressed classes. and yes reforms are necessary to kill this menace of maoism.

I have my doubts on the second point. Most Indians don't say verbatim that they want Pakistan to disintegrate/break up (a few have said this in fact, but I wouldn't call them most), but some of the other stuff they do and say suggests that they do want that to happen to Pakistan.

Roger that - We have enough problems for us to sort. No one wants a new set of problems to be added to the already existing long list.

True - Personally I would always prefer a stable democratic Pakistan than one ruled by a dictator or a Mullah. Though I must concede there is always a lingering doubt in the minds of majority of Indians that if Pakistan becomes too stable internally then it would renew its focus on Kashmir, which is not a good thing for India.

Today the Forward castes are the one who are oppressed by the OBCs  (I am a OBC). But oppressed in the sense I mean they get more opportunity than the FCs in various fields.

Today the system of using caste as a tool for oppression has given way to using caste as a sense of identity and pride. I proudly identify with my caste - but that doesnt make me oppress other caste. They are equally proud of their caste. It is a lot better.

Maoists are terrorists - Simple.

Eradicate that menace and at the same time work for the development of the tribals who have been neglected for long so that some years down the line another set of Maoists dont crop up.

India is indeed trying to reduce Pakistani influence in Afghanistan which is what all rivals do - undermine the other s influence in third countries. But extrapolating it to Indian support to BLA/TTP is like giving way too much credit to the 'all-powerful' RAW.

p.s.: This thread is in a wrong section and is doomed to be deleted. So please ask the mods to move it to the World Affairs section.

to be brutally honest..it is true for both sides that we celebrate each others failures ..but i think even those who doesn't want pakistan to do well also feel sympathy towards them when there is some natural calamity happens..such as the recent flood or gujarath earth quake.
