In 1962, inspite of having Western Arms ,Ammunition and Support, India was defeated by China on a massive scale and ended up losing 43,000 square kilometres of its held territory. With most of the Indian forces tied up towards China, Pakistan had a golden chance to LIBERATE Kashmir. Unfortunately our top leadership was made to believe that the US will help to us to resolve the Kashmir issue. Till to date from Kennedy to Trump US has just given us lollipops.

Moving forward have we learned anything from our past mistakes,are we ready to confront India decisively and are the current hostile Chinese deployments a prelude to another GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY!
We have four months left before the winter, to make up our minds. It will be even better that every thing is going as planned between Pakistan and China!. With India Fragmented deep down and the Kashmiris more determined than ever. This maybe the ULTIMATE CHANCE we waited for nearly Sixty years!!!

Pakistan needs to introduce Kashmir First policy.

They are the only people out there standing behind the slogan of Pakistan.

The Pakistanis themselves have abandoned the slogan for local slogans.

Ayub admin sadly trusted US a lot.

Just after war, hindutvas started raiding kashmir and killing civilians and started the rann of kuch conflict. So, we got nothing.

Pakistan should only trust itself and its friend China. Pakistan should always quickly mobilize its forces in strike formation whenever hindus are engaged with China. Hindus did the same when Quaid died they immediately attacked hyderabad state.

The Indians are SILENT but are doing all the preparations from there side. Its a wait and see game for us, lets see how it pans out. Indian might want to wait till the winter to buy more time!

It's true that Pak could have probably taken Kashmir then. It is untrue that India had Western Arms, ammo or support. Indians were ill equipped with vintage rifles, lacking of mountain fighting gear while Chinese had more modern Soviet weapons. The Sino-Soviet communist split had still not happened. @Joe Shearer - correct me if mistaken.

Also the Americans and Soviets were locked in Cuban missile crisis at that time.

Are you sure , a lot of US made ammunition was seized in the the battle of Rann of Kutch by us.

All American supplies came in AFTER the 1962 conflict with China, so that is possible. But considering that the Indian front-line was the CRPF, and the posts captured were police posts, I am not very sure how the American ammunition came to be 'seized'.

@Jackdaws is talking about an opportunity during the 1962 crisis; the Rann of Kutch incident happened between the 9th of April and the 1st of May 1965.

Frankly, what options do we have?

We are not asking PakMil to attack india now, we are only asking to maintain minimum necessary offensive force in strike formation. If and when hindus are heavily engaged, Pakmil strikes to capture strategic areas. China our dear friend will be relieved of the burden as well. Or the least we can do is to 'help freedom fighters'.

This is very rational. If someone in GHQ or Farigh office is worried about 'hamara image and enternational comoonity' , they are on the wrong side of history. Whenever, Pakistan has been engaged internally, india has struck and nobody cared about 'image'. Case in point, 71 crisis, 84 siachen when our military was (needlessly) busy internally, and 2002-present.
