IAF Still Plagued By Accidents

IAF should plan properly for long term rather than running behind imports after every 10 years.

IAF management is a basket case. They can't manage, train or fly their own fleets properly, blame everything on outsiders for crash and they want new planes.

First learn to operate what you have, then make new demands. IAF needs a surgery. Lot of scandals from rations, arms to appointments. One hell of rotten eggs in there. No wonder, they can't even design their own communication network protocols and need Israel's help in that too.

In my opinion, IAF should hire western consultants on how to run an airforce.

In fact, image of Indian armed forces has gone so low in youths. that now people prefer to join IAS than joining an airforce whose chief takes pride in flying "imported" planes & brag about it as if his daddy gifted him NASA's space-plane model on birthday.

India has marched ahead but IAF management is still living in stone-age colonial slave mentality & bear same arrogance when poked about it. Indian army has same problem but its more of corruption(Arjun MBT scandal) than inherited colonial arrogance.

Lets take the value of 200 hours per year on average for EVERYBODY..for the IAF.. would like a link to verify that..
And 18 hours which I have from a PAF source..on average for everybody per month..or 180 hours a year.

Then we take the IAF crashes depending on platform (Mig,Sukhoi etc) and their respective ages.
we do the same for the PAF..

take on the average age of a PAF jet..and the average age of an IAF jet..

then you do the math since 2000... because pre 2000 the IAF suffered from a spares shortage for its mig fleet.. and a general lack of serviceability.. which can account for the moniker of flying coffin..not fair really..

And please.. fanboys with lots of posts should stay out of replying to me.. I would rather not have to close this thread down.

Wow, thats a lot of calculations. I'll see if I can even find some of this data in the public realm. Though every crash is reported by the Indian media, the problem is that they often don't mention which version of the Mig 21 crashed. This is clearly important since IAF still flies the M and the MF, other than the Bis and the Bison.
