Abbottabad

Abbottabad is the capital city of Abbottabad District in the Hazara region of eastern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is about 120 kilometres north of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, and 150 kilometres east of Peshawar, at an altitude of 1,260 metres. Kashmir lies to the east.

Well roughly, from what I know/heard.
It takes minimum 3 years to hit captain.
Minimum 5 years after that to hit Major.
Then probably 7 - 10 years till they go Lt. Col (Depends on courses and all)
Another 5 - 6 years to become Colonel/Brigadier.

Overall log apne future ki security ke hisaab se dekhtey hai.
Khud ka ilaj free, biwi bachon ka free. Bachon ki education free.
Rehne ka ghar free/discounted. Phir pension poori life ke liye khud ki ya biwi ko.

If you are a graduate then apply for the graduate course instead of the long course.
Aur zyada socho na bhai, agar join karna hai to jump maro, baaki Allah behtar kareyga aur jo qismat mei likha hai wohi milna hai to fikr kesi
