An interesting fact which came into my knowledge recently. The poet Mr Naseer Turabi when asked about this particular poem HUMSAFAR (Companion) told something amazing. He said that this poem was written in 1971 with the background of fall of Dhaka. I was already a fan of this master piece but when I reheard it with this new information in mind, it took my breath away. The words somehow got new meanings and even deeper ones

I heard that this Ghazal was actually written on break up of Pakistan in 1971, and its actually about that separation.
