New church to tower over home of Confucius - GlobalTimes

Church Plan in Hometown of Confucius Draws Protest - ABC News

it is like building a huge mosque besides Lincoln Memorial.

whenever we debate mutual respect of culture and religions. U.S will shout 'persecution of christian'.

I don't think the US really cares. It's more interested in creating havoc amongst its people so that the people have some sort of enmity with Islam. One cannot be at war with decent people.

Though the US people that object to strategically placed Mosques ought to object to this, but somehow I doubt they will. Notable hypocrisy.

They don't understand the reason for the failure of Christianity in China.

1# Christian doctrine in some of the most attractive----"Everyone is equal before God". But this view no much of an attraction in China. Because Chinese is equality of social, not need to achieve equality through faith.

2# European religious identity are high. But China is not the same, religious identity are not high.

3# Chinese traditional culture has matured, most people do not think how great Western civilization.

4# Chinese people historically has always been very suspicious of foreign religions. China has always been a secular state centered around the civic religion of confucian duty to the state. The interest of the foreign religion and interest of the chinese people fundamentally does not align.

So the Vatican needs Chinese people more than Chinese people needs the Vatican.

eh? From the same source
China's officially atheist government wants to build a Christian church in the hometown of Confucius to help foster a relationship between an ancient philosophy and the country's fastest-growing religion. But suddenly, it's not going so smoothly.

Your own government is building it. Why are you linking this to the US

Saint Trinity Church are plan to bulid it not the government. so the ABCnews lied about that

whenever we debate mutual respect of culture and religions. U.S will shout 'persecution of christian'. - i guess you never watched any american TV, papers, news

not this religious bs again.

if china has got one thing right, it's atheism

just because some people don't believe in Jesus or follows Christianity doesn't mean they are atheist.

Atheism is a term created by white people to describe their own kind who do not follow the ways of Christianity.

China has numerous types of religions and beliefs: Taoism, Confucianism, Buddhism and ancestor worship.

In China, Christianity's trouble is not from The Chinese Government.

Yes, The Government building the church.
But the atheist Chinese people do not marry with Christians. The atheist children don't play with Christian children...
