Samsung UI beats them,however, that's where they will need to catch up.

I agree, the user interface on Huawei's EMUI is a weak point. It took me a while to get used to it, and I still don't think the settings menu is intuitive at all.

But I wouldn't say it is bad overall, just that it needs to go further to compete with the others.

Huawei has no significan marketshare in the US.

If buying a Huawei phone is opposite of making America great again. A big segment of population would not buy Huawei phones.

Not when this provide unmatched night shot and superior zoom. Its worth the American effort to go thru this trouble. Dont underestimate Amazon sales. Its more than u think.

Well I'm an android guy and I prefer Android phones. Apple has brought change with the new iPhone 10 but before that they should have done more. Lots of people in the US use Apple computers as well and like pairing the phone with it. It is still very popular in the US.

A lot of people aren't upgrading because price of flagship phones are too high, they wait till the price comes down. Huawei would offer something fresh with more than compeititive pricing. They have a promising future though, their flagship phones are exciting and keep getting better. Samsung UI beats them,however, that's where they will need to catch up.

Another reason people stick with their vendor is GSM vs CDMA headaches.

More like why did the Europeans create GSM in ~1991 when we have had CDMA since probably 1948 and upgraded in 1989 by Qualcomm. They are the ones late to the cell phone game not us.

The problem is that the vast majority of smartphone sales in the US happen through carriers.

If they allowed Huawei to compete on a even level then Apple would be destroyed.

Apple has never been #1 in the laptop or desktop market. Their proprietary stuff sells at a premium.

I doubt they ever expected to stay #1 in the cell phone market for such a long time. They have their price niche.
