Huawei Debuts P30 Phones in Japan

No,

1) Huawei is no longer allowed to sell or operate products within the US, so it legally can't do so.

2) Huawei will be cut off from the version of Android that current Huawei phones use. So Huawei will not be legally allowed to provide updates to its Android based phones.

In other words, no security updates from Huawei either.

Huawei says otherwise.
As a Huawei customer as long as I get security updates that is all I really care about.

I don't know what Huawei is telling you, but they legally cannot operate on Android, after 90 days are up.

Unless they roll out their new OS, it's not gonna happen.

Yes they can. The revocation of the licence is stopping all contact between Google and Android.
This means no new Huawei phones after 90 day grace period can have Google Android or any Google support for current phones.
Huawei are free to push put their own security updates to current phones with Google Android.

That is NOT how this works. Google is legally obligated to cut off Huawei from all contact to the version of Android that Google uses. In other words, Huawei cannot legally continue to send updates after the 90 days are up.

In fact, forget legally, they literally won't have the means to do so.

That is not what I have heard.
Will do some research and come back to you on this.

Will keep using Huawei. It provides great value, and performs like a beast.
I'm not sure whether Huawei was involved in any patent infringement /or stealing secrets from other companies. I will give it the benefit of doubt.

This saga highlights the importance of in - house research for developing countries.
