It's clear as day we need to quarantine the entire country for three months. Right now financial constraints make this impossible.

Zaid Hamid had an excellent idea. Defer all our international loan repayments for 3 months - use that money to fund food and medical supplies for the poorest in society. Total rationing - 2 roti a day's. But at least nobody dies of hunger.

We have enough basic survival food for the whole nation.

Nationalise the full raw food chain (including logistics) and convert all mosques to Bait-ul-maal. Nationalise tandoors as well.

You can't lockdown whilst starving a large population who can't even get 2 meals a day on table.

The objective of lock down is to slow down the spread of virus. That objective can be achieved more effectively by closing down border with Iran. Next step isolate your self from people with sectarian flags and turbans.
Only by implementing above stated precations for a next few weeks, we will be able to bring down the rise of spread.

I know regime is offering different solution i.e. let zairin mix up and than blame public for their behavior and non compliance with precautions, which are practically impossible to implement in country like Pakistan.

Don't buy into this crap. Do you know that doves during our nuclear program tried to convince the hawks -- and the nation -- of this same narrative? The current group would probably have not even pursued the bomb because we were economically weak and "couldn't" survive sanctions. There are always innovative solutions, like Zaid Hamid and thousands of others have suggested. But when your economic system is composed of IMF-types itself, your COAS is a dove and your special assistant on nat sec worked in a govt-funded US think tank for years before returning to Pak last year, those solutions get buried under the fear mongering of "economic conditions." Even if I change one mind today on this issue, may God make it yours!

Yes, but you can let them get infected and not be able to work / earn and potentially die given that there aren't enough beds/ICU units/vents available --- great plan.

He's a known dove. Nothing wrong with wanting peace but sometimes the best defense is a strong offense. We don't need doves, IMF clowns and American agents.

Police, military patrols, punitive financial fines and arrests! Or as a friend in Traffic police used to say "Salam, Kalam aur phir Challan!" :p:

using army in populated areas may result in army getting infected with this virus and I think this may be conspiracy of our enemies so they easily attack us after army become less capable of fighting due to corona infection, people should take responsibility on their own
