Based on the western media, shouldn't be all those young Uighurs and Kazaks in concentration camps? How come they have so many people in the wedding? Summer vacation?

I guess so, the western media says 1-3 million Uighurs are being locked up in concentration camps, considering Uighurs whole population is 10 million, including very young, very old and very sick, so 1-3 million basically mean every healthy Uighur adult in Xinjiang. This video has many Uighur adults, so it must be in a concentration camp.

塔城 Tarbagatay Prefecture is in north Xinjiang, a Kazak dominated region, so I guess many people you see in the video may be Kazaks instead of Uighurs, Kazaks look more east Asians than other ethnicities in central Asia.

Kazaks are nomadic people, now many kazak herdmen's wedding can only see cars, not horses. All cultures change with time.

No one forced them to do so, it's people's choice nowadays, Turkish weddings are also very similar ,can you say that Turkey forced their people to wed in a western way? if you like to ride a horse or donkey for your wedding, no one stops you , Indians will know better once they becomes rich also.

If a nation's culture, tradition and customs never change with time, this nation has no future, thousands of years old Chinese old custums like women's food binding, polygamy , banning of female education, women giving up their own names for their husbands names and can not divorce their husbands.... were done away completely by Mao, some with iron fist, because they no longer fit in modern society.

Xinjiang does keep many old things and now some of them are being turned into small local musems, like this old Uighur traditional mud house and traditional utensils, it's nice to be remnicent about the past but once an earthquake hits, those traditional mud housing will become death traps. Some old things you have to let go eventually.
