Think China has some way to go before it becomes as powerful as US(circa 2030).

However US will have the edge as it has rich and powerful allies and most people prefer US culture to Chinese culture.

The US will always have the edge because they have far far greater cultural influence on the world, and much deeper political ties than the Chinese can make. Unless Chinese songs/movies/games reguarly become hits in the West and they build an asian NATO, I dont think this setup will ever change.

Some countries do develop equally spectacular if not more than China, but Turkey is not one of them, Japan, South Korea, Singapore really do , but they can hardly become world powers to challenge US due to their small size in area and population.

I don't know what weapon you are talking about, but Turkish weapons are heavily depend on western powers for technology support and parts, can be sanctioned by the west when relationship goes sour. beside, countries have different priorities, military and weapons building are never China's priority since Deng's time.

I agree it's not an IQ issue, humans are the same race. it's more to do with governance , values and ethics. in the 60's and 70's all countries laughed at China and believed the Chinese were the laziest bunch, that sentiment was especially prevalent in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Hong kong, older people in Hong kong still believe it even today.

China 30 years ago was argubly the poorest country in the world, Pakistan was a rich country in our eyes, that's why China decided to change, changes can bring good or bad results, Mao and Deng both made huge changes in China in different ways, that's the risks you have to accept when making changes, but if you don't change, you could be stuck in the same place forever, it's true for managing a country, it's true for managing a company.

Wars has nothing to do with allies..

If america had no allies it would have not survived these wars ..
