Haval H6 SUV review in UAE

The Greatwall Haval H6 is the top-seller SUV model in China. Its accumulated sales in the sales past five years (2014 to 18) was about 2.2 million units.

I had test driven Havel SUV couple of months ago, didn't thought it was comparable to Honda, Hyundai or Kia. Its cheap, and is made cheap. Its service cost average is $350 which is $100 more expensive than Honda.

Havel's 7 seat version looks amazing and perhaps better than competitors, but looks and performance are two separate aspects.

Thanks for sharing your view.

I had the experience with Toyota RAV4, Hyundai ix35 and Haval H6. My feeling is Haval performs as good as the peer models, if not better.

The only complaining point is Haval has a 9L/100km fuel performance, but RAV4 is around 8L/100km. Thats about one USD per 100 km differenc in fuel cost. But sales price wise, Haval is priced 50% lower than Toyota RAV4 in China, or USD10k difference in absolute term. I.e one million km required to claim back the sales cost difference. But most people in China drive about 15k km a year, or 60 years needed for 1 million km range.

BTW, 350 USD service cost is crazy. In China it is around 120 USD.

For Havel I was told the average service cost is $350 Australian Dollars, which makes around $250 USD. For Honda (and most comparable brands), this price is $249 AUD ($175 USD) when service is done by Honda itself, but outside Honda service centres, the cost is $120 AUD (85 USD).
