Hafeez Shaikh rejects Asad Umar’s tax amnesty scheme model

Check Pakistan GDP during their tenure.

I know the GDP and that wasn't good enough. Especially the 'lost decade' of the 90s having Sartaj Aziz and Benazir as a PM as well as a Finance Minister had one of the worst economic phases of the country. Moin Qureshi, as an IMF/World Bank yes took controversial decisons in his 3-month stint as an interim PM. Shaukat Aziz, a banker from Citi Bank again had nothing much to show as an FM except for controversial structural adjustments and the Stock Exchange crash.

Whatever economic progress Pakistan made during that time was mainly because of external factors and Pakistan's geo-political situation. As for Shaukat Tareen, another banker, his stint during PPP's government was better not to be discussed here. So brother, there's nothing 'pretty good' about these bankers and to have another one would most likely serve his institution rather than his country.
