Gujarati Muslims rather than Arab muslims played key role in Islamizing Indonesia, Malaysia

Indonesian himself is also agree on the notion that Gujarati was playing a big role in Islamizing Indonesia. It is why Gujarati role is taught in any Indonesian primary school. The fact, both Arab traders and Gujarati play a role in Islamizing both Indonesia and Malaysia. Even Persian has also contributed.

Muslim in Philippine actually is still Muslim like in Mindanau island (closer to Indonesia). It was under a Muslim kingdom for so long but majority of people living in Luzon island, their biggest island, still havent embraced Islam at that time, this is the reason of why they become Catholic and following their invader religion.

Their location is also too far away from Malacca strait which is a very importance strait for the trade between Arab/Persian and China. Many people living in eastern part region of Indonesia is also following Christianity.

Both India and Pakistan were founded by Gujaratis. Gujaratis have always had disproportional economic and political influence in the subcontinent and neighboring areas.

An interesting thing I learned in a history class is that Karachi and Mumbai were only really developed as port cities by the Europeans as most of the indigenous ports were in Gujarat.

Also, a Muslim in the subcontinent would have had to traveled to Gujrat to get on a boat to Mecca.

Correct. Mumbai was a small Fishing village when the British arrived. The "shantytowns" along the coast are actually remnants of the original settlements of Mumbai harbor before the rest got taken down for more development. Historically, Pune was the capital of Maharashtra.

You are also correct about traveling to Mecca from Gujarat. In fact, Guru Nanak stopped at Lakhpat in kutch near the Rann of Kutch while on his pilgrimage to Mecca, and the place where he stayed became a Gurudwara. It still stands today, and is the westernmost Gurudwara in India.

probably too much of an ethnic pride/ rant, muslim league was predominantly founded/based in north india not gujarat and most ML leaders behind jinnah also were from the same north indian back ground.
