When we look at the big picture, the major carbon emitters are actually the middle classes of the world. Their desire for the latest car, cell phone, tv etc. The mass manufacture of such items creates the actual pollution.

I mean, the ten-year-old "chotu" at the local tea shop is child labor, but look at my position in the context of this post of mine.

We in the East never believe in such noisy propaganda, so i believe she would not receive much attention even in "democratic" Japan or Korea.

Climate change is real and goverments need to be authoritarian, at least somewhat to do serious works, like in China and not just lip services like in most others. Do any of you really believe that "democratically" elected goverments would care. Maybe in their words in running for election, yes, but after they are elected, all would be forgotten. What they will do are works needed to win the election in next 4 years, and climate change maybe the last thing in their minds. And the budget and impact for serious works are huge. No "democratic" goverment would ever risk that.

I back the fight against climate change, however the Greta Thumberg roadshow is getting very annoying now.

For the right reason or not, what has merited her opinions over countless others from all around the world? She is not a scientist or a researcher, she hasn't won any global competition to reserve her place at the podium and yet there she is, dictating the global audience.
An assemblage of unknown forces hand pick these Global Icons, because they speak for a "Good Cause" and we all should bow heads in compliance .
