Nobody in India is deluded, a water security issue turned religious conflict won't get you much support, here you are asking for something that you can't get, a state with huge water reserves and glaciers...

Stop funding them and then we will see, India has deep pockets to play the game, can your army continue this at the expense of Public welfare? India wont give up its water security, you can either start building dams and Power plants to utilize the 80% water you get or stand like a fool and watch it fall into sea, the water will always flow into Pakistan and India or anyone cannot stop the flow, so now the ball has been retrieved by Pakistan, think what you want to do, we wont kill anybody just to appease some people, Kashmir would still be for the kashmiris and ruled by democratic kashmiri leaders...

Kashmir is disputed territory, both countries have conducted military operations there without the conflict escalating onto the international boarder. The IA were cowards, they saw Kashmir falling out of their hands and decided to attack Lahore instead. It was off guard.

If you can say that, then why you didn't declare war in 65 before sneaking into Kashmir and trying to turn Kashmiris against India (which failed miserably)? Isn't that cowardly? Nope, it was a tactical move.
The point is, we were at a declared war. You were gaining posts in Kashmir, it was a tactical move by IA to attack Lahore given PA was dominated by Punjabis and a strike at home would put your entire operation in Kashmir into a tailspin, which it did.

Why the hell are those assholes even getting taxpayer-funded security in the first place?

But without having to worry about Pakistan, it would be a lot more politically feasible for the Indian Governmetn to hold talks with the Kashmiri Hurriyat to discuss a peaceful resolution to Kashmir, just like Atal Bihari Vajpayee did before Kargil. Pakistan actually hurts its strategic and diplomatic objectives with regard to Kashmir by supporting terrorism, or by not taking sufficient action against terror groups that operate on its soil and thus leading the world to believe it supports terrorism.
