Mate the UK MOD is still running with the LA85-A2 with upgraded parts from H&K and the caliber is still 5.56.

Dont expect much movement on this until 2030.

But it also Increases recoil and the rifle weight and size.

The reverse of going for bigger calibre rounds is due to the advancement of material size where 5.56mm has difficulty penetrate modern ballistic bullet proof vest.

I never said the UK would use US rifles, where did I imply that? We have our own small arms industry.

No, it doesn't weigh that much lol nor it has uncontrollable recoil. It's recoil report is slightly more than a 5.56
